Journal ArticleDOI
The importance of atmospheric ozone and hydrogen peroxide in oxidising sulphur dioxide in cloud and rainwater
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the experimental data to calculate the rate of sulphate formation in water droplets under atmospheric conditions for each of the three oxidants, i.e., ozone, ozone and hydrogen peroxide.
Journal ArticleDOI
A study of SO2 oxidation in stored rainwater samples
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the rate of oxidation of SO2 in stored rainwater samples is directly proportional to the manganese content, and this largely determines the effectiveness of the SO2 oxidation in producing sulphate in atmospheric droplets such as rain and fog water.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of CCl3F and CCl4 at Harwell over the period January 1975–November 1977
TL;DR: In this paper, the average CCl 3 F concentration at Harwell increased with time and the data have been used to determine the growth in the background C 4 concentration over the period in question, in very good agreement with our calculated value of 1.1 pptv per month, for removal entirely by photolysis in the stratosphere.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurements of CCl3F and CCl4 at harwell over the period January 1975–June 1981 and the atmospheric lifetime of CCl3F
TL;DR: In this paper, two dimensional modeling is employed to obtain the atmospheric lifetime of CCl3F from the observed Harwell 1975-1981 times series and the published C43F historical release.
