Journal ArticleDOI

The Localization of Androgen Receptors in Human Bone

TL;DR: In this article, the expression of human androgen receptor (AR) was investigated in normal developing and osteophytic bone of both sexes in the growth plates from the developing bone, androgen receptors were predominantly expressed in hypertrophic chondrocytes and in osteoblasts at sites of bone formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

The localization of thyroid hormone receptor mRNAs in human bone.

TL;DR: This study used specific digoxigenin-labeled ribo probes to investigate the expression of TRalpha1, variant TRalpha2, TRbeta1, and in particular TRbeta2 mRNA in human osteophytic bone and osteoclastoma tissue in situ and demonstrates the first demonstration of the presence of TRbeta 2 mRNA in bone.
