Journal ArticleDOI

CW bismuth fibre laser

TL;DR: In this paper, a new fiber laser based on a bismuth-doped aluminosilicate glass fiber is proposed and fabricated and obtained in the spectral region between 1150 and 1300 nm.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comprehensive functional analysis of tissue specificity of human gene expression

TL;DR: Comprehensive functional analysis showed that the housekeeping set is substantially larger than previously thought, and is enriched with vital processes such as oxidative phosphorylation, ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis, translation and energy metabolism.
Journal ArticleDOI

A single-mode fiber with chromatic dispersion varying along the length

TL;DR: In this article, a method for fabrication of a novel type of optical fiber with dispersion varying along the fiber length is described, which takes into account the calculated dependence of fiber dispersion on fiber core diameter for the measured profile of the preform and the desirable dispersion dependence on fiber length.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bismuth-doped-glass optical fibers—a new active medium for lasers and amplifiers

TL;DR: Optical fibers with bismuth-doped silicate and germanate glass cores fabricated by the modified chemical vapor deposition technique revealed an efficient luminescence with a maximum in the 1050-1200 nm spectral range, FWHM up to 200 nm, and a lifetime of the order of 1 ms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined excitation-emission spectroscopy of bismuth active centers in optical fibers

TL;DR: 3-dimensional luminescence spectra (luminescence intensity as a function of the excitation and emission wavelengths) have been obtained for bismuth-doped optical fibers of various compositions in a wide spectral range (450-1700 nm).
