Abstract: Publisher Summary Since the preparation of the first pure sulphur-nitrogen-fluorine compounds, NSF, NSF and S4N4F4, in 1955 this field has developed very rapidly. The chemistry of these compounds has been the subject of several reviews, and has also been covered more or less fully in reviews on sulphur-fluorine and sulphur-nitrogen chemistry . The spate of recent publications has, however, rendered these earlier summaries incomplete. The present article covers developments up to the middle of 1970, with main emphasis on the recent work. Compounds with other halogens are considered only insofar, as they are of interest in this context. The earlier division into acyclic and cyclic compounds has been retained, as has been the classification in terms of the various oxidation numbers of sulphur. An attempt has been made starting from NSF and NSF, to point out the general relationships in the chemistry of sulphur-nitrogen-fluorine compounds.

Abstract: Molybdanpentachlorid reagiert mit trimerem Thiazylchlorid, (NSCl)3, unter Bildung des Chlorthionitrenkomplexes , in dem sich der Chlorthionitrenligand als (NSCl)2⊖-Gruppe auffassen last. I reagiert mit Phosphorylchlorid zu dem Solvat Cl3POMo(Cl4)(NSCl) (II), das auch direkt aus MoCl5 · OPCl3 mit Thiazylchlorid gebildet wird. II kann mit Chloridionen in den anionischen Chlorthionitrenkomplex [Cl5Mo(NSCl)]⊖ (III) uberfuhrt werden. Die Thermolyse von I liefert unter SCl2-Abspaltung MoNCl3, wahrend die Umsetzung von I mit Chloridionen zu [MoNCl4]⊖ fuhrt, so das die Chlorthionitrenkomplexe ausgezeichnete Startsubstanzen zur Synthese von Nitridokomplexen sind. Die Komplexe I—III werden IR-spektroskopisch charakterisiert. Chlorothionitrene Complexes of Molybdenum Molybdenum pentachloride reacts with trimer thiazylchloride, (NSCl)3, forming the chlorothionitrene complex , in which the chlorothionitrene ligand is to be understood as (NSCl)2⊖ group. I reacts with phosphorylchloride forming the solvate Cl3POMo(Cl4)(NSCl) (II) that can also be obtained directly from MoCl5 · OPCl3 and trithiazylchloride. II reacts with chloride ions giving the anionic chlorothionitrene complex [Cl5Mo(NSCl)]⊖ (III). Thermal decomposition of I leads to MoNCl3 under SCl2 cleavage, while reaction of I with chloride ions gives [MoNCl4]⊖. Both reactions prove chlorothionitrene complexes to be excellent precursors for the syntheses of nitrido complexes. The complexes I—III have been characterized by IR spectroscopy.

Abstract: Rheniumpentachlorid reagiert in POCl3-Losung mit trimerem Thiazylchlorid (NSCl)3, unter Bildung der Chlorthionitrenkomplexe [(Cl3PO)ReCl4(NSCl)] (I) bzw.[(Cl3PO)ReCl3 (NSCl)2] (II). I reagiert mit AsPh4Cl in Dichlormethanlosung unter Abspaltung von Schwefeldichlorid und Phosphorylchlorid zu AsPh4[ReNCl4], wahrend II mit AsPh4Cl den Komplex AsPh4-[ReCl4(NSCl)2] · CH2Cl2 bildet. Die IR-Spektren der Verbindungen werden diskutiert und zugeordnet. Die Kristallstruktur von AsPh4[ReCl4(NSCl)2] · CH2Cl2 wurde mit Hilfe von Rontgenbeugungsdaten ermittelt und verfeinert (R-Wert 3,1% fur 2785 Reflexe). Es kristallisiert triklin in der Raumgruppe PĪ mit zwei Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle und den Gitterkonstanten a = 1119, b = 1144, c = 1473 pm, α = 77,6, β 70,8 und γ 71,2°. Die beiden NSCl-Liganden sind cis-standig an das Rhenium gebunden, mit fast gestreckten ReNS-Gruppierungen, deren interatomare Abstande als Doppelbindungen aufzufassen sind. Die ReCl-Abstande sind etwas langer als sonst und lassen keinen trans-Effekt erkennen; dies kann mit H-Bruckenbindungen Cl…HC zusammenhangen.
