Characterization and Quantification of the Compounds of the Ethanolic Extract from Caesalpinia ferrea Stem Bark and Evaluation of Their Mutagenic Activity

TL;DR: Assessment of the qualitative and quantitative profiles of the ethanolic extract from the stem bark of C. ferrea and the absence of any mutagenic effect in the Salmonella/microsome assay is important for pharmacological purposes and the safe use of this plant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidative stress in the hybrid fish jundiara (Leiarius marmoratus × Pseudoplatystoma reticulatum) exposed to Roundup Original®

TL;DR: It is found that Roundup Original® is able to trigger important changes in the biochemical parameters tested, showing it can be a potential threat for the health and survival of fish in the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiproliferative activity of Rhinella marina and Rhaebo guttatus venom extracts from Southern Amazon.

TL;DR: Bioprospecting of antiproliferative activity in extracts of Rhinella marina and Rhaebo guttatus toads occurring in the Southern Amazon of Mato Grosso, Brazil showed pronounced lethal and discriminating effects on tumor lines, especially those from R. marina, highlighting toad parotoid gland secretions as a promising source for novel lead anticancer chemicals.
Journal ArticleDOI
