Journal ArticleDOI
Salicylic acid-induced resistance to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici in tomato.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that exogenous application of 200 microM salicylic acid through root feeding and foliar spray could induce resistance against Fusarium oxysporum f.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reinforcement of cell wall in roots of Lycopersicon esculentum through induction of phenolic compounds and lignin by elicitors
Sudhamoy Mandal,Adinpunya Mitra +1 more
TL;DR: Cell wall strengthening, through the deposition of lignin, preceded by the induction of the synthesizing enzymes appears to play an important role in the defense response of Lycopersicon esculentum in reaction to elicitors, including one derived from Fusarium oxysporum f.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biostimulation of Indigenous Microbial Community for Bioremediation of Petroleum Refinery Sludge.
Jayeeta Sarkar,Sufia K. Kazy,Abhishek Gupta,Avishek Dutta,Balaram Mohapatra,Ajoy Roy,Paramita Bera,Adinpunya Mitra,Pinaki Sar +8 more
TL;DR: It is highlighted that indigenous community of refinery sludge was intrinsically diverse, yet appreciable rate of in situ bioremediation could be achieved by supplying adequate N sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biochemical characterization of oxidative burst during interaction between Solanum lycopersicum and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici
TL;DR: The observed higher rate of lipid peroxidation and the seemingly less efficient antioxidative system leading to sustained accumulation of ROS indicate that the biochemical events are largely in favour of the pathogen, thus making this host–pathogen interaction a compatible combination.
Journal ArticleDOI
4-hydroxycinnamoyl-CoA hydratase/lyase (HCHL)--An enzyme of phenylpropanoid chain cleavage from Pseudomonas.
Adinpunya Mitra,Yoshie Kitamura,Michael J. Gasson,Arjan Narbad,Adrian J. Parr,John Payne,Michael J. C. Rhodes,Ciaran Sewter,Nicholas J. Walton +8 more
TL;DR: The enzyme HCHL, which catalyzes a hydration and two-carbon cleavage step in the degradation of 4-hydroxycinnamoyl-CoA, has been purified and characterized from Pseudomonas fluorescens strain AN103 and is a homodimer and is active with three closely related substrates.
