TL;DR: The green and yellow luminescence centres in ZnO and Mn-doped ZnOs are investigated in this article, and it seems that a VZn · V0 divacancy exists, and that luminecence is due to interstitial zinc and oxygen.

The influence of processing conditions on point defects and luminescence centers in ZnO
TL;DR: Positron lifetime spectroscopy and cathodoluminescence were employed to study luminescence centers in ZnO. as mentioned in this paper showed that as annealing temperatures and/or times increase, the average grain size increases and can reach 30 µm for samples sintered at 1,200 C.
