Multiple regressions are applied to assess the impact of liquidity risk on banks' profitability.Findings – The results of multiple regressions show that liquidity risk affects bank profitability significantly, with liquidity gap and non‐performing as the two factors exacerbating the liquidity risk. They have a negative relationship with profitability.Research limitations/implications – The period studied in this paper is 2004‐2009, due to availability of the data. However, the sample period does not impair the findings since the sample includes 22 banks, which constitute the main part of the Pakistani banking system. TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the impact of organizational learning on organizational performance of higher education institutes of Pakistan using non-probability purposive sampling strategy, and a sample of size 150 was chosen amongst the employees.
Abstract: The education sector is the most important sector of any country as it is involved in the building of the future human capital. Education has achieved the status of an industry in Pakistan. The present study is conducted to investigate the impact of organizational learning on organizational performance of higher education institutes of Pakistan. Non-probability purposive sampling strategy was adopted, and a sample of size 150 was chosen amongst the employees. The response rate obtained was 66 percent. The data were collected by using DLOQ. Regression analysis was performed to estimate the impact of explanatory variable ‘organizational learning’ on the response variable ‘organizational performance’ with “Culture” as a moderator. The results revealed a significant positive impact of the organizational learning on organizational performance. Inquiry and dialogue, and systems connection were the two dimensions which were found to be highly significant; however, five of them (continuous learning, team work, embedded systems, empowerment and leadership) were insignificant in relation to the organizational performance.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors re-examine the rationale for public policy and conclude that the prevailing public knowledge model is evolving towards a networked or distributed model of knowledge production and use in which public and private institutions play complementary roles.
Abstract: This book re-examines the rationale for public policy, concluding that the prevailing ‘public knowledge' model is evolving towards a networked or distributed model of knowledge production and use in which public and private institutions play complementary roles. It provides a set of tools and models to assess the impact of the new network model of funding and governance, and argues that governments need to adapt their funding and administrative priorities and procedures to support the emergence and healthy growth of research networks. The book goes on to explain that interdependencies and complementarities in the production and distribution of knowledge require a new and more contextual, flexible and complex approach to government funding, monitoring and assessment.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation in garment business firms and found that knowledge management shows a significant positive association with organizational learning, which in turn reveals a positive linkage to sustainable organizational innovations in SMEs.
Abstract: This current study is among the very few investigations, which seeks the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation in garment business firms. This investigation focused on examining how organizational learning mediates the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation. This research establishes that knowledge management and organizational innovation procedures are integral parts of the progress and survival of the organizations. The received data of this population reports on the garment firms, operating their businesses in Lahore and Gujranwala. The study applied a stratified random sampling method for data collection and employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine the hypothesized relationships. The results specify that knowledge management shows a significant positive association with organizational learning, which in turn reveals a positive linkage to sustainable organizational innovation in SMEs of the garment industry. The study results also specify that organizational learning mediates the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation.
