Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption characteristics of Congo Red onto the chitosan/montmorillonite nanocomposite.

TL;DR: The results indicated that the adsorption capacity of C TS/MMT nanocomposite was higher than the mean values of those of CTS and MMT, and all the sorption processes were better fitted by pseudo-second-order equation and the Langmuir equation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic, Durable, and Superhydrophobic Polyurethane@Fe3O4@SiO2@Fluoropolymer Sponges for Selective Oil Absorption and Oil/Water Separation

TL;DR: The PU@Fe3O4@SiO2@FP sponges could be used as membranes for oil/water separation and for continuous separation of large amounts of oil pollutants from the water surface with the help of a pump.
Journal ArticleDOI

pH-sensitive sodium alginate/poly(vinyl alcohol) hydrogel beads prepared by combined Ca2+ crosslinking and freeze-thawing cycles for controlled release of diclofenac sodium.

TL;DR: FT process enhanced drug entrapment efficiency, improved swelling behaviors and slowed release of drug from the dual crosslinked beads compared with pure SA beads crosslinked with Ca2+ ion alone, which provide a facile and effective method to improve the drug delivery system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterization of chitosan-g-poly(acrylic acid)/attapulgite superabsorbent composites

TL;DR: In this paper, a chitosan-g-poly(acrylic acid)/attapulgite superabsorbent composite with water absorbency of 159.6 g g 1 in distilled water and 42.3 g g ¼ 1 in 0.9 wt% NaCl solution was prepared by graft polymerization, using N,N 0 -methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinker and ammonium persulfate as an initiator.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and swelling properties of pH-sensitive semi-IPN superabsorbent hydrogels based on sodium alginate-g-poly(sodium acrylate) and polyvinylpyrrolidone

TL;DR: A pH-sensitive semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN) superabsorbent hydrogel composed of NaAlg-g-PNaA network and linear polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was prepared by free-radical solution polymerization in the presence of initiator ammonium persulfate (APS) and crosslinker N,N-methylene-bis-acrylamide (MBA).
