Effects of Optical Anisotropy of Aggregated Silver Films on Ellipsometric Determination of n, k, and d

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of calculating optical parameters of vacuum-deposited silver films has been developed and applied to this investigation, where the optical anisotropy of the film is taken into account, and the convergent range of the anisotropic parameters is determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

The strain effect on the electrical conduction in discontinuous gold films

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the strain coefficient γ of the electrical resistance in discontinuous metal films and found that γ increases with resistance, which suggests that the activated tunnelling model is an appropriate one for explaining the conduction mechanism in metal films.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of plasma treatment of PTFE substrates on the adhesion characteristics of vacuum-deposited Au films

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of plasma treatment using argon and oxygen discharge gases on the surface energy of PTFE foils was examined by measuring the contact angles of water droplets placed on the foil surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adhesion measurement of non-metallic thin films using a scratch method☆

TL;DR: In this article, a vibrating diamond stylus motion was applied to measure the adhesion of MgO, TiN and carbon films on glass substrates, which exhibited considerable inhomogeneity on the substrate.
