Journal ArticleDOI
Copper(ii) coordination compounds: classification and analysis of crystallographic and structural data iii. dimeric compounds
Milan Melnik,Mária Kabešová,Marian Koman,Ľubov Macåškovå,Ján Garaj,Clive E. Holloway,Aladár Valent +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarized the data for over nine hundred dimeric Cu(II) coordination compounds and found that the most common ligands are O− and N− donors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copper(II) salicylideneglycinate complexes as potential antimicrobial agents
Aladár Valent,Milan Melnik,Daniela Hudecová,Barbora Dudová,Raikko Kivekäs,Markku R. Sundberg +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of an ethanolic solution of N-salicylideneglycinatoaquacopper(II) hemihydrate with urea, pyridine, 2,4-dimethylpyridine and quinoline in an equimolar ratio resulted in solid products containing complexes of the type Cu(salgly)L with distorted square pyramidal coordination polyhedra.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction of a copper(II)-Schiff base complexes with calf thymus DNA and their antimicrobial activity.
Danica Sabolová,Mária Kožurková,T. Plichta,Z. Ondrušová,Daniela Hudecová,Martin Šimkovič,Helena Paulíková,Aladár Valent +7 more
TL;DR: The results showed that the copper(II) complexes could bind to DNA with an intercalative mode and the percentage of hypochromism is found to be over 70%
Journal ArticleDOI
Equilibrium and Structural Studies of Silicon(IV) and Aluminium(III) in Aqueous Solution. 20. Composition and Stability of Aluminium Complexes with Propionic Acid and Acetic Acid.
Eva Marklund,Lars-Olof Öhman,Staffan Sjöberg,Ewa Huskowska,Mauri Lounasmaa,Juraj Krätsmar-Smogrovic,Aladár Valent,Tomas Alminger,Magnus Erickson,Inger Grundevik,Inger Hagin,Kurt-Jürgen Hoffman,Svante Johansson,Sam Larsson,Ingalil Löfberg,Kristina Ohlson,Björn Persson,Inger Skånberg,Lija Tekenbergs-Hjelte +18 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Thiohydrazone copper(II) complexes. The relationship between redox properties and superoxide dismutase mimetic activity.
TL;DR: It follows that the structure and conformation of ligand has influence on the redox potential of central atom in coordination compound and the changes in the coordination sphere are connected with the change of biological function of compounds represented by SOD-mimic activity.
