TL;DR: Efforts have been underway to evolve and sustain a well-organized, efficient, reliable, and secure unified payment system, which may contribute to the smooth functioning of the market by eliminating obstacles in business.
Abstract: Advancement in payment technologies has an important impact on one's quality of life. Emerging payment technologies create both opportunities and challenges for the future. Being a quick and convenient process, contactless payment gained momentum, especially with merchants, with throughput being the main parameter. However, it poses risks to issuers, as no robust customer verification method is available. Thus, efforts have been underway to evolve and sustain a well-organized, efficient, reliable, and secure unified payment system, which may contribute to the smooth functioning of the market by eliminating obstacles in business.

Abstract: In this paper, a design of small sized, low profile patch antenna is proposed for BLUETOOTH applications at 2.4GHz frequency with coaxial feeding technique. The patch is H-shaped and different parameters like return loss, VSWR, gain along two directions, radiation pattern in 2-D and 3-D, axial ratio, E and H Field Distributions, Current Distributions are simulated using Ansoft HFSS. The measured parameters satisfy required limits hence making the proposed antenna suitable for BLUETOOTH applications in 2.4GHz band.

TL;DR: The electro-optic effect of a lithium-niobate-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer is explored to configure a 4×4 modified Fredkin gate, capable of furnishing as many as 16 logical combinations, and thus showing potential of curbing the area overhead.
Abstract: The continuous quest for reversible computation that could be extensively used in applications such as digital signal processing, quantum computing, quantum-dot cellular automata, and nanotechnology has recently discovered its optical implementation as light tenders high-speed computing with the slightest information loss. The electro-optic effect of a lithium-niobate-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer is explored to configure a 4×4 modified Fredkin gate, capable of furnishing as many as 16 logical combinations, and thus showing potential of curbing the area overhead. The optical design is carried out using the beam propagation method. We have also performed the mathematical modeling and analyzed the results in MATLAB.

TL;DR: Contactless payment has received recent attention because of its short-range, conducive nature, but due to interoperability and high cost, these technologies are not available to everyone.
Abstract: Continuous improvements in technology and quality of life have had a strong impact on the development of payment techniques. With the evolution of near-field communication (NFC) technology, contactless payment has received recent attention because of its short-range, conducive nature. As mobile computing made great leaps due to enormous development in the smartphone platform, companies like Google, Samsung, and Apple embedded NFC in smartphones to provide on-the-go payment capabilities, eliminating the need for payment cards. But due to interoperability and high cost, these technologies are not available to everyone.

TL;DR: A thorough survey on NFC is proposed and the problems available in the current technology of major industries like Apple, Google, Paypal are found and some new thoughts to solve those are proposed.
Abstract: Near Field Communication, being an emerging technology, has become an attractive area of research in academics as well as in industries due to its flooding growth and promising applications like short range contactless communication for mobile phone and other devices alike. In this regard, a proper understanding and direction of current research of NFC is to be perfectly maintained for the advancement of knowledge and to reduce the bridge gap between its basic theory and application practice. In this paper, we have proposed a thorough survey on NFC and discussed it in terms of our own visualization. We have found the problems available in the current technology of major industries like Apple, Google, Paypal and proposed some new thoughts to solve those. We also have analyzed the NFC business ecosystem and current / future market trends. In other words, this holistic review with the objective of bringing to state-of-the-art in NFC design provides development of knowledge in this field with future research directions.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of switching transients in digital MOS circuits that perturb analog circuits integrated on the same die by means of coupling through the substrate were observed. And the authors showed that in such cases the substrate noise is highly dependent on layout geometry.
Abstract: An experimental technique is described for observing the effects of switching transients in digital MOS circuits that perturb analog circuits integrated on the same die by means of coupling through the substrate Various approaches to reducing substrate crosstalk (the use of physical separation of analog and digital circuits, guard rings, and a low-inductance substrate bias) are evaluated experimentally for a CMOS technology with a substrate comprising an epitaxial layer grown on a heavily doped bulk wafer Observations indicate that reducing the inductance in the substrate bias is the most effective Device simulations are used to show how crosstalk propagates via the heavily doped bulk and to predict the nature of substrate crosstalk in CMOS technologies integrated in uniform, lightly doped bulk substrates, showing that in such cases the substrate noise is highly dependent on layout geometry A method of including substrate effects in SPICE simulations for circuits fabricated on epitaxial, heavily doped substrates is developed >

TL;DR: It is shown that by using a sufficiently large number of relays in the proper manner, circuits can be built which are arbitrarily reliable, regardless of how unreliable the original relays are.
Abstract: An investigation is made of relays whose reliability can be described in simple terms by means of probabilities. It is shown that by using a sufficiently large number of these relays in the proper manner, circuits can be built which are arbitrarily reliable, regardless of how unreliable the original relays are. Various properties of these circuits are elucidated.
