Enhancement of Compressed Images by Optimal Shift-Invariant Wavelet Packet Basis

TL;DR: The novel postprocessing method based on the optimal shift-invariant wavelet packet (SIWP) representation and wavelet shrinkage is proposed to enhance compressed images and is shown to achieve a better trade-off between enhancement performance and decoder complexity than both the orthonormal wavelettransform and the undecimated wavelet transform-based methods.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Epipolar Spaces for Active Binocular Vision Systems

TL;DR: This paper defines the corresponding epipolar space in the other image as the union of all associated epipolar lines over all possible system geometries, eliminating the need for calibration at the cost of an increased search region.
Journal ArticleDOI

A stereo visual pattern image coding system

TL;DR: A binocular stereo system for images coded by Visual Pattern Image Coding (VPIC) is presented and evaluated and an algorithm for spatial matching of VPIC primitives is proposed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Video Quality Assessment of User Generated Content: A Benchmark Study and a New Model

TL;DR: This work conducts a comprehensive evaluation of leading blind VQA models and creates a new fusion-based BVQA model, which it dubs the VIDeo quality EVALuator (VIDEVAL), that effectively balances the trade-off between performance and efficiency.
