Fused Deposition Modeling for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs): A Review
Helge Klippstein,Alejandro Diaz De Cerio Sanchez,Hany Hassanin,Yahya Zweiri,Lakmal Seneviratne +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, an extensive review of fused deposition modeling and its application in the development of high performance UAVs is presented, including the process methodology, materials, post processing, and properties of its products.
Journal ArticleDOI
Additive Manufacturing of Porous Structures for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Applications
Helge Klippstein,Hany Hassanin,Alejandro Diaz De Cerio Sanchez,Yahya Zweiri,Lakmal Seneviratne +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel design process of fused deposition modeling (FDM) combining both topology and infill optimization is introduced for AM of high performance porous structures, which gives the designers a large amount of geometrical freedom.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design and Implementation of a Dual-Axis Tilting Quadcopter
Ali Bin Junaid,Alejandro Diaz De Cerio Sanchez,Javier Betancor Bosch,Nikolaos I. Vitzilaios,Yahya Zweiri +4 more
TL;DR: Outdoor flight tests using tilting rotors, to follow a trajectory containing adjacent obstacles, were conducted in order to compare the flight of conventional quadcopter with the proposed over-actuated vehicle, and show that the quadcopters with tiltingrotors provides more agility and mobility to the vehicle especially in narrow indoor and outdoor infrastructures.
