Stability of atomic and diatomic hydrogen in fcc palladium
Su-Huai Wei,Alex Zunger +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a self-consistent total energy calculation for various configurations of atomic and diatomic hydrogen inside fcc palladium has been carried out to clarify some of the solid state aspects of the physics of dense hydrogen in metals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface reconstructions and surface energies of monolayer‐coverage cation‐terminated Ga0.5In0.5P(001) surfaces
Sverre Froyen,Alex Zunger +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the fully covered cationterminated (001) surfaces of Ga0.5In 0.5P alloys and found that among several possible Ga and In surface patterns (within a 2×2 unit cell), the one corresponding to CuPt-like bulk ordering is stabilized by ∼100 meV per surface atom.
Journal ArticleDOI
Erratum: Room-Temperature Ferromagnetism in Mn-Doped Semiconducting CdGeP 2 [Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 047205 (2002)]
Priya Mahadevan,Alex Zunger +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Type-II-->type-I transition in (GaX)n/(InX)n (001) superlattices (X=P, Sb) as a function of period n.
TL;DR: It is shown that a type-II[r arrow]type-I transition occurs around the period [ital n]=4, and that the band structure of ultrathin superlattices cannot be explained in terms of a simple effective-mass theory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Theory of reflectance-difference spectroscopy in ordered III-V semiconductor alloys
Su-Huai Wei,Alex Zunger +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the previously neglected coupling between the spin-orbit split-off band and the crystal-field split-offs band is crucial for determining the RDS intensity of the Ga{sub {ital x}In{sub 1{minus}{ital x}}P alloy.
