TL;DR: The results of computational simulations have shown that the convergence rate of the approximate solution by weighted FEM to the exact solution does not depend on the value of the internal corner ω and equals O ( h ) in the norm of a space W 2, ν 1 ( Ω ) .
Abstract: In the paper, a new numerical approach for the rotation form of the Oseen system in a polygon Ω with an internal corner ω greater than 180 ∘ on its boundary is presented. The results of computational simulations have shown that the convergence rate of the approximate solution (velocity field) by weighted FEM to the exact solution does not depend on the value of the internal corner ω and equals O ( h ) in the norm of a space W 2 , ν 1 ( Ω ) .

TL;DR: Amides of GL and conjugates of GL with two amino acid residues and a free 30-COOH function presented up to 70-fold increased activity against SARS-CoV but also increased cytotoxicity resulting in decreased selectivity index.
Abstract: Glycyrrhizin (GL) was shown to inhibit SARS-coronavirus (SARS-CoV) replication in vitro. Here the anti-SARS-CoV activity of 15 GL derivatives was tested. The introduction of 2-acetamido-beta-d-glucopyranosylamine into the glycoside chain of GL resulted in 10-fold increased anti-SARS-CoV activity compared to GL. Amides of GL and conjugates of GL with two amino acid residues and a free 30-COOH function presented up to 70-fold increased activity against SARS-CoV but also increased cytotoxicity resulting in decreased selectivity index.

TL;DR: One-pot synthesis of 2-(arylthio)arylcyanamides is accomplished using cheap and air-stable CuSO(4) x 5 H(2)O as a catalyst by domino intra- and intermolecular C-S cross-coupling reactions of 2"-iodoaryl)thioureas with aryl iodides under ligand-free conditions.

TL;DR: A review of recent advances in the X-CN (X=N, S, O) bond formation can be found in this article, where the outlooks for the future are discussed.
Abstract: The cyano moiety is a common and important functional group that exists in a myriad of medicinal molecules and natural products. Moreover, nitriles serve as versatile precursors that can readily be converted into diverse functional groups as well as the nitrogen-containing cyclic molecules. As a result, cyanation has become a significant type of transformation in organic chemistry. However, in comparison with the well-developed C-cyanation, few works have been reported dealing with the N-, S- and O-cyanation processes. Apart from the classical von Braun reaction, chemists have developed a number of methods with various cyanating reagents to achieve such X-cyanations (X=N, S, O). In this review, recent advances (especially those after 2000) in the X–CN (X=N, S, O) bond formation are summarized with discussion and the outlooks are also listed.
