A simple method for DNA extraction from mature date palm leaves: impact of sand grinding and composition of lysis buffer.

TL;DR: This study suggested that grinding of date palm leaf with sterile sand and inclusion of NaCl in the lysis buffer without the costly use of liquid nitrogen, PVP and LiCl, provides a DNA yield of sufficient purity, suitable for PCR amplification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decoration of Ag2WO4 on plate-like MnS for mitigating the charge recombination and tuned bandgap for enhanced white light photocatalysis and antibacterial applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the photocatalyst was synthesized via chemical co-precipitation method and investigated its physical and structural characteristics using HR-TEM, N2 adsorption and desorption studies, FT-IR, EDAX, PL, UV-vis DRS, ESR, XPS and XRD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mycotoxin-producing fungi occurring in sorghum grains from Saudi Arabia

TL;DR: Thirty one species belonging to 17 fungal genera were found to be associated with sorghum grain samples imported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and statistical comparisons of fungal isolation frequencies revealed that Aspergillus niger, Penicillium funiculesum and Rhizopus stolonifer were most frequently isolated from untreated grains.
