Vitamin D status and bone mineral density in women of reproductive and postmenopausal age groups: a cross-sectional study from south India.
TL;DR: Vitamin D deficiency coexists with low BMD in women of reproductive and post-menopausal age-groups in south India and Serum 25(OH)D needs to be documented in women having low B MD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of protein oxidation and its association with lipid peroxidation and thyrotropin levels in overt and subclinical hypothyroidism
A. Haribabu,V. Seshadri Reddy,Ch. Pallavi,Aparna R. Bitla,Alok Sachan,P. Pullaiah,V Suresh,P. V. L. N. Srinivasa Rao,Suchitra Mm +8 more
TL;DR: Partial correlation analysis revealed that both excess TSH and increased MDA levels are mutually influencing elevated PCO in hypothyroidism, indicating that there is a simultaneous oxidative damage to lipids and proteins leading to increase MDA and PCO levels in both patient groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidant Defense in Overt and Subclinical Hypothyroidism
Varikasuvu Seshadri Reddy,S. Gouroju,Suchitra Mm,V Suresh,Alok Sachan,P. V. L. N. Srinivasa Rao,Aparna R. Bitla +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of OHT and subclinical hypothyroidism on antioxidant status has been determined, and the severity of the disease appears to decide the degree of deficiency, in the form of decrease in SOD, FRAP, and GSH observed being more in OHT than in SHT patients.

An association of hyperglycemia with plasma malondialdehyde and atherogenic lipid risk factors in newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetic patients
Suchitra Mustur Manohar,Seshadri Reddy Vaikasuvu,K Deepthi,Alok Sachan,Srinivasa Rao Pemmaraju Venkata Lakshmi Narasimha +4 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that TG/HDL-C and AI may be particularly useful as atherogenic risk predictors in newly diagnosed patients with T2DM.
Journal Article
Bone disease in thyrotoxicosis
TL;DR: The effects of thyrotoxicosis (endogenous and exogenous) on bone and mineral metabolism, effects of subclinical thy Rotoxicosis on boneand mineral metabolism and effects of various forms of treatment in improving the bone mineral density in thyrotoxicityosis are discussed.
