In-plane Permeability and Mechanical Properties of R-Glass/Aramid Hybrid Composites

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of hybridization on in-plane permeability and mechanical properties of R-glass/aramid/epoxy composites manufactured by vacuum infusion was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differential effects of typical and atypical antipsychotics on astroglial cells in vitro.

TL;DR: Risperidone and haloperidol present different effects on astroglial cells, in this way being able to differentially affect the neuroinflammation associated with neuropsychiatric disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zika virus exposure affects neuron-glia communication in the hippocampal slices of adult rats.

TL;DR: The results indicate that ZIKV-induced neuroinflammation, involving nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and nuclear factor κB (NFκB) pathways, affects important aspects of neuron-glia communication and long-term consequences might be associated with neurological and/or neurodegenerative diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gliotoxicity and Glioprotection: the Dual Role of Glial Cells

TL;DR: A review of types and functions of glial cells and cellular and molecular mechanisms associated with gliotoxicity and glioprotection, potential glio-protective molecules and their mechanisms, as well as gliotherapy can be found in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-Velocity Impact Behavior of Aramid/S2-Glass Interply Hybrid Laminates

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of hybridization and stacking sequence on the ballistic impact response of S2-glass/aramid/epoxy laminates was investigated, and the results showed that hybridization of aramid composites with S2glass may enhance the impact absorption capability of hard composite armors, however, the ballistic limit velocity, which is a crucial parameter to assess ballistic shield performance, reduced.
