Effects of Mobile Commerce on Customer Usage Intention: An Empirical Study in Viet Nam

This research developed a mobile medical supplies and equipment ordering app (MMSEOA) model and attempted to validate it empirically. When customers (clinic doctors) make purchases on the app, two types of reasons can be identified: “reasons for” include enduring involvement (emotions), product description, and awareness (familiarity) while the “reasons against”, were demonstrated as perceived risk and resistance to change (fear). This study aimed to strengthen and illuminate the most significant dimensions that enhance a doctor's understanding of MMSEOA and the intention to use it. Furthermore, this research investigated the model's applicability among clinic doctors in Jordan. The model was empirically examined using a sample of 342 Jordanian clinic doctors and their secretaries who use mobile services in general. The survey method, a quantitative approach, was utilized; the partial least squares structural equation modeling system was used to investigate the proposed framework. The results demonstrate that these “reasons for” positively influenced the intention to use the MMSEOA except product description. Similarly, reasons against negatively influence the customers' intention to use the MMSEOA app, while perceived risk had no effect on the intention to use. These findings suggested that researchers should focus more on the services, products, and the main function of the MMSEOA to determine their influences on customers' intention to use. This will improve the buying habits related to purchasing medical supplies using MMSEOA and other online platforms, specifically in Jordan and the Middle East at large.

An intention to use mobile applications for medical supplies and equipment ordering in clinics

M-commerce has very rapidly developed into a very powerful way of reaching out to the consumer. M-commerce has been a massive success in terms of users’ adoption in some markets like Japan, while, astonishingly, not as thriving in others. However, its acceptance and level of adoption are low in Palestine compared to other countries. The research main objective is to classify the key variables that influence the acceptance of M-commerce among higher education students in Palestine by developing an M-commerce adoption Model based on an extension of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).  A total of 430 questionnaires were collected and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) technique. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, personnel innovation, security and privacy, subjective norms, and perceived trust are found to have an important effect on consumer behavioral intention to adopt M-commerce. These results will benefit stakeholders involved in M-commerce activities such as service providers, retailers, consumers, academicians, and students.

Determinants of M-Commerce Adoption: An Empirical Study

Educational video games (EVG) provide a rich platform to improve the Player Experience (PX), and constitute some of the main edutainment applications currently in the market. However, the evaluation of video games as educational tools is very difficult due to their dual nature (fun and education). In some cases, PX (as an usability measure) is a very important aspect of the EVGs and is a good measure of the level of fun and education presented to players. Educational Playability (playability in EVG) attributes are a suitable and effective tool to analyze and measure the experience obtained by a player during a game. To this end, it is necessary to evaluate the playability to determine the degree of improvement in PX. Playability evaluation through different methods is one of the major topics of PX in video games. In this paper, we present a new approach to evaluate the PX by using the educational playability.

Using Playability Heuristics to Evaluate Player Experience in Educational Video Games

The Team Orienteering Problem (TOP) is a particular vehicle routing problem in which the aim is to search a fixed number of paths that maximize the scores associated with a set of given locations within a limited time. This paper proposes a scatter search hybrid approach (SSHA)to deal with the TOP. It uses some new operators, called reference set queen bee-method to initializing and updating the RefSet, and greedy select parentsto selecting pairs from a reference set for the combination method to generate a new solution. Furthermore, to improve the quality of the solution, a local search is employed, called steepest descent to exploreneighbourhood in a fully deterministic manner and then selects the best neighbour. Experiments conducted on the standard benchmark of TOP clearly show that proposed approach outperforms the solving methods in the scientific literature. Our algorithm detects all but one of the best known solutions. A statistical test was conducted to determine the algorithm that performed better compared with the others.
