The goal of this paper is to create a Voice Activated Braille as a portable device that will help individuals who are blind or visually impaired without any partial help to recognize certain written characters. This is a system controlled by Arduino that will be able to direct blind people. The system acts mostly as a guide for the blind, a particular virtual environment for the visually disadvantaged, making them similarly optimistic to the rest of the world's regular citizens. Blind people will benefit from these innovative braille methods to tackle the challenge of information technology around the world. This system is compact and will keep blind people from partial assistance and can also help them read something without any help. Thus, the daily inconvenience of blind individuals can be significantly decreased and they can enjoy a certain level of freedom and activity.

A number of problems are associated with the generation, management and security of PINs, a subset of password. The PINs may be recharge card used by GSM operators or for authentication in ATM. The problems associated with the use of these PINs range from scratching off any of the recharge PIN numbers in recharge card to loss of PIN number or entering invalid number in the case of authentication. It usually takes time for the customer service of the service provider or system administrator to provide convincing solution to these problems promptly when it occurred. PINs generation could seem like simply arranging ranges of number and feeding it into the telecommunication systems such as mobile handsets or ATM to grant access but it requires a specialized and secured way to generate, store and manage it in order to achieve prompt access. This paper focused on the development of database concept to provide solution to these problems by desiging a system by which the PINs generated can be effectively stored and managed so that userss can have immediate access to the PINs if they can provide the identification number on the card. Succintly, the paper discusses the design of a system that generates, manages and secures PINs application using Visual Basic Version 6.0 for designing the front and interface and Microsoft Access 2007 as the database. The system was implemented using real data and the result was successful.

Using Database Management System to Generate, Manage and Secure Personal Identification Numbers (PIN)

Multimedia services are increasing due to necessity of life. As a result, issue of poor quality of services (QOS) and data rate need to be considered for their sustainability. The conventional Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) previously in use can only improve Qos at low data rate while OFDM only reduces data rate. Therefore, this paper aims at investigating the hybridization of MIMO-OFDM with different antenna configurations over Rayleigh fading channel. The binary data are encoded by the convolution encoder. The encoded data forwarded to the mapper are being recorded by the bit inter leaver which are later converted from serial to parallel subcarriers after Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). The data from Parallel subcarriers 2, 4 and 8 are processed by Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT). Then cyclic prefix is added to prevent Inter symbol Interference (ISI). The distorted signals are received by 2, 4, 8 antennas, synchronized, cyclic prefix is removed and Fast Fourier transform processes the synchronized signals. The data through different antenna are converted to serial, demodulated and decoded after the de-interleaving. The hybridized system is evaluated using data rates and Bit Error Rate (BER) for 2x2, 4x4, and 8x8 MIMO-OFDM sectorial antenna configurations. The results obtained show that as SNR increases, the data rate also increases for both conventional MIMO and Hybridized MIMO-OFDM, but data rates for the Hybridized MIMO-OFDM are higher than conventional MIMO. Similarly, BER values for hybridized MIMO-OFDM are lower than the values obtained for conventional MIMO. This indicates that Hybrid MIMO-OFDM performs better over Rayleigh fading than conventional MIMO.

In industries many a times people go for manual drilling, which increases human risks. If a worker drills the metal sheet by using his hand then there is a high risk of cutting and physical damage to the body, also the hazardous particles that are ejected during drilling may harm his health and body. If an individual is operating without industrial safety guidelines and utilities risk of particles entering in sensing open body parts like the eyes, nose and ears increases. This paper summarizes the implementation of an robotic system which will automatically drill the sample with very high accuracy and precision. This will reduce the time, avoid human errors and enhance the quality with zero human risk. This robotic arm system is implemented in order to obtain high accuracy, repeatability automatically using the SCADA system. Hence our project gives a big and good impact for the manufacturing industries. Cost effectiveness, human safety factor, quick results makes this system a reliable one for drilling applications.

Evolution of Mobile Technology

This paper, present an innovative method to create a Braille printer (Braille Embosser), which would be controlled by voice. By giving a voice command, the printer would provide the required embossed character. The technique would be most helpful for visually disabled people to perform their typing task. The main objective is to create a speech controlled printer using various electrical and mechanical domains such as digital signal processing, analog circuit design, and interfacing the electrical bobbins.

The Energy consumed by the street lights can be effectively conserved if we can control the traffic lights on the highways by glowing them only when needed. If road is full of traffic, and it is almost impossible to detect the arrival of a vehicle manually without the sensing of the vehicles. Under these situations we should think about a system which is capable of sensing the arrival of vehicle and Switch ON the lights and turn OFF as soon as the vehicle leaves the area. Also the intensity of the street light is controlled according to the surrounding light.

Real Time Street Light System Using Low Power Microcontroller

Street lighting is a key public serviceprovided by public authorities at the local and municipal level. With relatively new technologies that are evolving rapidly, it is difficult to identify prototypical lamps for comparison. This paper presents comparative study of various lamps based on lighting efficiency, energy consumed, colour rendition, Operating life, and Thermal effects. Incandescent convert only 1/3 per cent of electricity consumed into usable light. Compact fluorescent lamps (1), represented a significant improvement in energy efficiency but they contain mercury that can present a risk when the lamps are broken or disposed of incorrectly. Energy consumption accounts for much of the impact reported for all of the lamps. For the incandescent, energy consumption during use was the most important issue. For the CFL, mercury content was the most important issue. For the LED, the heat sink was associated with many impacts. The ability to produce high power, high quality white light with LEDs is more recent and this technology is still evolving in a highly competitive market. LED lighting technology has established itself as a proven alternative to traditional high-intensity discharge or high-pressure sodium lighting.
