Hydroxyl radicals electrochemically generated in situ on a boron-doped diamond electrode
Teodor Adrian Enache,Ana-Maria Chiorcea-Paquim,Orlando Fatibello-Filho,Ana Maria Oliveira-Brett +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the hydroxyl radicals generated in situ on a boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode have been investigated for the first time in different electrolyte media, over the whole pH range between 1 and 11.
Journal ArticleDOI
Applications of a DNA-electrochemical biosensor
TL;DR: This review discusses recent advances on the design and applications of DNA-electrochemical biosensors that use DNA direct electrochemistry as a detection platform and describes new bottom up immobilisation procedures of self-assembled nanostructures based on DNA single- and double-stranded, G-quadruplex, and i-motif configurations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Natural phenolic antioxidants electrochemistry: Towards a new food science methodology
Ana-Maria Chiorcea-Paquim,Teodor Adrian Enache,Eric de Souza Gil,Eric de Souza Gil,Ana Maria Oliveira-Brett +4 more
TL;DR: This review provides an exhaustive overview concerning the electron transfer reactions in natural polyphenols, from the point of view of their in vitro antioxidant and/or pro-oxidant mode of action, as well as their identification in highly complex matrixes, relevant for food quality control, nutrition, and health research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Palladium nanoparticles and nanowires deposited electrochemically: AFM and electrochemical characterization
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) to determine the Pd nanostructure dimensions on the order of 50-150 nm.
Journal ArticleDOI
In situ electrochemical and AFM study of thalidomide-DNA interaction
Severino Carlos B. Oliveira,Ana-Maria Chiorcea-Paquim,S.M. Ribeiro,A.T.P. Melo,Marilene Vivan,Ana Maria Oliveira-Brett +5 more
TL;DR: In agreement with AFM, DPV, UV-Vis and electrophoresis results, a model is proposed for the TD-DNA interaction, considering that TD intercalates into the dsDNA, causing defects in the dSDNA secondary structure and DNA double helix unwinding.
