Ionic liquids on desulfurization of fuel oils
TL;DR: In this article, the suitability of a new pyridinium ionic liquid as solvent in the extraction of sulfur- and nitrogen-containing compounds from fuels has been analyzed, and the equilibrium data for 1-hexyl-3,5-dimethyl pyrinium {bis[trifluoromethylsulfonyl]imide}+thiophene+n-hexane or n-dodecane or N-hexadecane ternary systems have been determined at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gasoline desulfurization using extraction with [C8mim][BF4] ionic liquid
TL;DR: In this article, the phase equilibria of different ternary systems involving hydrocarbons present in gasoline formulations, thiophene, and [C8mim][BF4], were obtained experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solvent extraction of thiophene from n-alkanes (C7, C12, and C16) using the ionic liquid [C8mim][BF4]
TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of the ionic liquid 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate to act as solvent in the extraction of thiophene from aliphatic hydrocarbons is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Partitioning of antibiotics in a two-liquid phase system formed by water and a room temperature ionic liquid
TL;DR: In this paper, the suitability of room temperature ionic liquids (RTIL) for the extraction of antibiotics from aqueous solutions was investigated and the NRTL model was employed to correlate the experimental data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extractive and oxidative-extractive desulfurization of fuels with ionic liquids
TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of the extractive desulfurization and the oxidative-extractive desulurization of fuels was carried out, and the results showed that [C2mim][OAc] is preferred for the extraction of gasoline in an extractive process, whereas [C 2mim]-NTf2] is preferable for the oxidative desuluring of diesel.
