Extensive sympathetic denervation of the uterus during pregnancy as evidenced by tyrosine hydroxylase determinations in the guinea pig.

TL;DR: The capacity for neuronal NE synthesis in the guinea pig uterus was studied during pregnancy and postpartum utilizing animals with bilateral or unilateral pregnancies and the pronounced reduction in TH activity in the fetus-containing uterine horn during progressive pregnancy is suggested to be due to degeneration of the terminal network of adrenergic nerves.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dopamine Cell Therapy: From Cell Replacement to Circuitry Repair.

TL;DR: In this article, homotopic transplantation of mDA neurons into the substantia nigra was investigated in rodent PD models as a way to achieve more complete circuitry repair, and the afferent connectivity of grafts implanted in the nigra matched closely that of the intrinsic mDA system.
Book ChapterDOI

Chapter 7 Studies on host afferent inputs to fetal striatal transplants in the excitotoxically lesioned striatum

TL;DR: The results suggest that fetal striatal grafts in the ibotenic acid-lesioned striatum receive afferent host brain inputs from the substantia nigra, the thalamus and to some extent also from the amygdala, entorhinal cortex and the dorsal raphe nuclei.
