How to model the behaviour of organic photovoltaic cells

TL;DR: In this article, the optimization of various parameters which govern the behavior of polymer-based and organic photovoltaic cells is discussed, and deviations from optimal values and their effects on the current-voltage characteristics are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Review of electronic and optical properties of semiconducting π‐conjugated polymers: applications in optoelectronics

TL;DR: In this paper, a general overview of the optoelectronic properties of π-conjugated polymers is presented, which is related to their conductivities in doped and non-doped states, disorder and impurities play an important role in conductivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Size effect on organic optoelectronics devices: Example of photovoltaic cell efficiency

TL;DR: In this article, the authors theoretically show that electrical parameters of organic photovoltaic cells are altered when the cell length becomes greater than one centimeter, and provide experimental verification with simple molecular heterojunction cells with areas from 0.03 to 0.78 cm2.
Journal ArticleDOI

UV–visible and infrared characterization of poly(p-xylylene) films for waveguide applications and OLED encapsulation

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of poly(p -xylylene) films obtained by vapor-deposition polymerization has been evaluated in two optical applications: waveguide achievement by reactive ion beam etching (RIBE) and organic light emitting diode (OLED) encapsulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical modeling of organic solar cells based on CuPc and C60.

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-blend-poly(styrene-sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) layer on the short-circuit current density (J(sc)) of single planar heterojunction organic solar cells based on a copper phthalocyanine (CuPc)-buckminsterfullerene (C(60)) active layer was investigated.
