Single-layer dual germanene phases on Ag(111)

TL;DR: In this article, two distinct phases associated with germanene, the analog of graphene made of germanium (Ge) instead of carbon, can be grown on Ag(111) as observed by scanning tunneling microscopy, low-energy electron diffraction, and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.

Realization of a Type-II Nodal-Line Semimetal in Mg$_3$Bi$_2$

TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that Mg$_3$Bi$_2$ is a material candidate that hosts a single type-II nodal loop around the Fermi level and the two crossing bands have the same sign in their slopes along the radial direction of the loop, indicating the type II nature of the nodal line.
