Journal ArticleDOI
Printed educational materials: effects on professional practice and healthcare outcomes
Anik Giguère,Jeremy M. Grimshaw,Stéphane Turcotte,Michelle Fiander,Agnes Grudniewicz,Sun Makosso-Kallyth,Fredric M. Wolf,Anna Farmer,Marie-Pierre Gagnon +8 more
TL;DR: The results of this review suggest that when used alone and compared to no intervention, PEMs may have a small beneficial effect on professional practice outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of lake chemistry and fish age on cadmium, copper, and zinc concentrations in various organs of indigenous yellow perch (Perca flavescens)
TL;DR: In this article, the concentration of Cd, Cu, and Zn in various organs of juvenile yellow perch (Perca flavescens) were determined from eight lakes located along a metal concentration gradient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Steady-state distribution of metals among metallothionein and other cytosolic ligands and links to cytotoxicity in bivalves living along a polymetallic gradient.
Anik Giguère,Yves Couillard,Peter G. C. Campbell,Olivier Perceval,Landis Hare,Bernadette Pinel-Alloul,Jocelyne Pellerin +6 more
TL;DR: The results of the present study contrast markedly with what would have been predicted on the basis of experimental metal exposures, and clearly demonstrate the need to study metal exposure-->bioaccumulation-->effects relationships in natural populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
User-centered design and the development of patient decision aids: protocol for a systematic review
Holly O. Witteman,Selma Chipenda Dansokho,Heather Colquhoun,Angela Coulter,Michèle Dugas,Angela Fagerlin,Anik Giguère,Sholom Glouberman,Lynne Haslett,Aubri S. Hoffman,Noah Ivers,Jean Légaré,Carrie A. Levin,Karli Lopez,Victor M. Montori,Thierry Provencher,Jean-Sébastien Renaud,Kerri Sparling,Dawn Stacey,Dawn Stacey,Gratianne Vaisson,Robert J. Volk,William Witteman +22 more
TL;DR: This systematic review seeks to describe current practices of user involvement in the development of patient decision aids, compare these to practices ofuser-centered design, and identify promising strategies to help improve the experiences of people who face difficult health decisions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sub-cellular partitioning of cadmium, copper, nickel and zinc in indigenous yellow perch (Perca flavescens) sampled along a polymetallic gradient.
TL;DR: The presence of Cd and Ni in the HDP fraction, even for low chronic exposure concentrations, suggests that metal detoxification was imperfect, i.e. that P. flavescens was subject to some metal-related stress even under these conditions.
