Journal ArticleDOI

Deep learning architectures for land cover classification using red and near-infrared satellite images

TL;DR: New deep learning architectures for three different networks (AlexNet, ConvNet, VGG) were proposed by hypertuning the network and the input as two band data and found to perform equally efficient by retaining high accuracy with less number of trainable parameters, when compared against the the performance of benchmark deep learning architecture for satellite image classification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deep AlexNet with Reduced Number of Trainable Parameters for Satellite Image Classification

TL;DR: In the present work, the AlexNet architecture with two band information along with the reduced number of filters were trained and high-level features obtained from tested model managed to classify different land cover classes in the dataset.
Book ChapterDOI

A two-band convolutional neural network for satellite image classification

TL;DR: The proposed architecture, results in the total reduction of trainable parameters, while retaining high accuracy, when compared with existing architecture, which uses four bands.
