Journal ArticleDOI
Morphologic effects of cigarette smoking on airways and pulmonary parenchyma in healthy adult volunteers: CT evaluation and correlation with pulmonary function tests
TL;DR: The concept that parenchymal abnormalities can be detected in healthy smokers with normal findings at chest radiography and pulmonary function tests is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of regular consumption of short-chain fructo-oligosaccharides on digestive comfort of subjects with minor functional bowel disorders
Damien Paineau,Flore Payen,Suzanne Panserieu,Geneviève Coulombier,Annie Sobaszek,Isabelle Lartigau,Marylène Brabet,Jean-Paul Galmiche,Dominique Tripodi,Sylvie Sacher-Huvelin,Véronique Chapalain,Othar Zourabichvili,Frédérique Respondek,Anne C. Wagner,Francis Bornet +14 more
TL;DR: Regular consumption of sc-FOS may improve digestive comfort in a working population not undergoing medical treatment, and the discomfort item scores increased in the functional digestive disorders quality of life questionnaire, but daily activities were significantly improved in the sc- FOS group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Longitudinal follow-up study of smoker's lung with thin-section CT in correlation with pulmonary function tests.
Martine Remy-Jardin,Jean-Louis Edmé,Charles Boulenguez,Jacques Remy,Ioana Mastora,Annie Sobaszek +5 more
TL;DR: Emmphysema and/or areas of ground-glass attenuation at T0 are linked with impairment of ventilatory lung function over time in persistent current smokers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantification of short and long asbestos fibers to assess asbestos exposure: a review of fiber size toxicity
Guillaume Boulanger,Pascal Andujar,Pascal Andujar,Jean Claude Pairon,Jean Claude Pairon,Marie Annick Billon-Galland,Chantal Dion,Chantal Dion,Pascal Dumortier,Patrick Brochard,Annie Sobaszek,Pierre Bartsch,Christophe Paris,Marie Claude Jaurand +13 more
TL;DR: It is clear that the pathogenicity of SAF cannot be completely ruled out, especially in high exposure situations, and the presence of SAF in air samples appears as an indicator of the degradation of ACM and inclusion of their systematic search should be considered in the regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thin-Section CT Finding in 250 Volunteers: Assessment of the Relationship of CT Findings with Smoking History and Pulmonary Function Test Results
Ioana Mastora,Martine Remy-Jardin,Annie Sobaszek,Charles Boulenguez,Jacques Remy,Jean-Louis Edmé +5 more
TL;DR: Whereas a significant relationship was observed between segmental and lobar air trapping and cigarette consumption, lobular air trapping was not found to reflect functional impairment at the small-airways level.
