TL;DR: In this paper, the structural equivalence of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) across 26 samples from 24 countries (N = 12,200) was assessed.
Abstract: In this article, we assess the structural equivalence of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) across 26 samples from 24 countries (N = 12,200). The ZTPI is proven to be a valid and reliable index of individual differences in time perspective across five temporal categories: Past Negative, Past Positive, Present Fatalistic, Present Hedonistic, and Future. We obtained evidence for invariance of 36 items (out of 56) and also the five-factor structure of ZTPI across 23 countries. The short ZTPI scales are reliable for country-level analysis, whereas we recommend the use of the full scales for individual-level analysis. The short version of ZTPI will further promote integration of research in the time perspective domain in relation to many different psycho-social processes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between personality traits and time perspective and found strong relations between future and conscientiousness, as well as past negative and neuroticism, and also analyzed the hypothesis that time perspective has likeliness to personality trait.
Abstract: Time perspective is a phenomenon that could be differently conceptualized (e.g. as an attitude, as a flexible dynamic process, etc.) thus one of the ways to conceptualize time perspective is to consider it as a stable personality disposition. This chapter covers research studies that show a strong relationship between personality traits and time perspective. Particularly strong relations are found between future and conscientiousness, as well as past negative and neuroticism. What is more, there is sufficient evidence speaking in favour of time perspective being an independent construct that has additional prognostic value even after personality traits have been controlled for. This chapter also analyses the hypothesis that time perspective has likeliness to personality trait – is stable, broad and therefore can be considered as relatively stable dispositional characteristic.

TL;DR: Liniauskaitė et al. as mentioned in this paper presented the process of adaptation of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZPTI) in Lithuania and the psychometric characteristics of the Lithuanian ZTPI version.
Abstract: Straipsnyje pristatoma Zimbardo laiko perspektyvos klausimyno (ZTPI) lietuviskoji versija ir jos psichometrinės charakteristikos. Pagrindiniai žodžiai: laiko perspektyva, ZTPI, lietuviska ZTPI versija. The Lithuanian Version of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) Audronė Liniauskaitė, Antanas Kairys Summary The article presents the process of adaptation of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZPTI) in Lithuania and the psychometric characteristics of the Lithuanian ZTPI version. To assess the construct and its convergent validity, as well as other psychometric characteristics, four studies with the participation of 1529 respondents were conducted. By means of confirmatory factor analysis, the following goodness of fit indices were obtained: Chi-square = 3262.546; df = 1474; p < 0.001; Chi-square/df = 2.216; RMSEA = 0.044; CFI = 0.666; TLI = 0.651. All of them were acceptable, except for the values of CFI and TLI. All the obtained subscale Cronbach alpha values exceeded 0.7, with the exception of Past Positive. The value of the Past Positive Cronbach‘s alpha coefficient was 0.634. The findings of the study have shown quite acceptable psychometric characteristics of the Lithuanian ZTPI version which does not essentially differ from the original or its adaptations in other countries. Key words: time perspective, ZTPI, Lithuanian ZPTI version.

TL;DR: The authors discuss the central choices that have to be made before, during and after coding, providing support for novices in practicing careful and enlightening coding work, and joining in the debate on practices and quality in qualitative research.
Abstract: Qualitative research has gained in importance in the social sciences. General knowledge about qualitative data analysis, how to code qualitative data and decisions concerning related research design in the analytical process are all important for novice researchers. The purpose of this paper is to offer researchers who are new to qualitative research a thorough yet practical introduction to the vocabulary and craft of coding.,Having pooled, their experience in coding qualitative material and teaching students how to code, in this paper, the authors synthesize the extensive literature on coding in the form of a hands-on review.,The aim of this paper is to provide a thorough yet practical presentation of the vocabulary and craft of coding. The authors, thus, discuss the central choices that have to be made before, during and after coding, providing support for novices in practicing careful and enlightening coding work, and joining in the debate on practices and quality in qualitative research.,While much material on coding exists, it tends to be either too comprehensive or too superficial to be practically useful for the novice researcher. This paper, thus, focusses on the central decisions that need to be made when engaging in qualitative data coding in order to help researchers new to qualitative research engage in thorough coding in order to enhance the quality of their analyses and findings, as well as improve quantitative researchers’ understanding of qualitative coding.
