[Birth order, sex and schizophrenia].

Abstract: The purpose of the present study is to investigate the hypothesis of association between the children's ordinal position in the sibship and the prevalence of schizophrenia. In order to examine the proposal above mentioned 404 schizophrenic pacients (201 males and 203 females) from five psychiatric hospitals in the Greater Sao Paulo were observed. The statistical method here employed, which permitted the analysis of the effects of birth order on the prevalence of schizophrenia, was that of Greenwood-Yule. It was found that there is an association between birth order and schizophrenia, and that this relation may be described in terms of an excess of schizophrenia among first-borns, both male and female.

Identificação da população atendida na Clínica-Escola do Instituto de Psicologia da Puccamp

Abstract: O presente estudo visa conhecer algumas caracteristicas da populacao que procura atendimento psicologico na Clinica-Escola do Instituto de Psicologia da Puccamp, desde o inicio do seu funcionamento em 1970 ate 1985. Incluimos na nossa metodologia, nao so a descricao da nossa amostra (observada) como a comparacao com a populacao geral do estado de Sao Paulo (FIBGE). Observa-se que para a amostra total- 2.102 pacientes - encontram-se diferencas estatisticamente significativas: a proporcao de solteiros e, na amostra observada, bem maior que na populacao geral; o maior numero de pacientes atendidos encontrase na faixa de seis a 10 anos de idade, logo seguida pela de 11 a 15 anos; quanto a escolaridade, os clientes da nossa amostra apresentam um grau de instrucao mais alto do que o da populacao geral do estado de Sao Paulo; verifica-se que cerca de 44% dos pacientes, ao consultarem a Clinica-Escola para obterem atendimento com relacao a seus problemas vitais e psicologicos, sao estudantes e, em geral, sao encaminhados por instituicoes escolares (lato sensu).

Sobre a evolução de vínculos conjugais originados na Internet

Abstract: The present study has as its goal to study couples emotional experiences who have transformed virtual bonds into marital ones. Results by a master’s research conducted by the application of investigative psychoanalytical method and content interpreted according to psychoanalysis reference of bonding configurations and group psychoanalysis. The research led us to recognize that, despite the possibility of knowing traces of the other’s personality in a virtual bond, the meeting is bond’s constitutive part. We conclude that, for the realization of a romantic bond, the Internet is characterized as a condition, from which the bond is constructed by stages like identification of intentions and values, mutual desire, confirmation of data as reality and the establishment of the first face to face encounter, in a process where good or bad results depend mostly of the maturity of the ones involved as well as of its physical presence contact.

O amor caiu na rede: sobre a procura de parceiro e a evolução de vínculos amorosos na Internet

Abstract: This article presents results and discussions of research with couples whose bonds had originate from relationships mediated by the Internet, where we investigated the process of selection and evolution of loving bonds made in this context, by applying the psychoanalytic method of investigation. This study reveals that for the reality of the loving bonds, the meeting face to face is condition for its establishment and support, although the emergence of virtual bonds are not fictitious.

Caracterização da clientela das clínicas-escola de cursos de Psicologia da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre

Abstract: Although many studies about Psychology School-Clinics have been conducted in Brazil, there are few in Rio Grande do Sul. So that, this paper is a survey's research about sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of people who reached out for psychological service in 2004 at 10 Psychology School-Clinics in metropolitan area of Porto Alegre. The results showed similarity between most of other studies that had been previously conducted in Brazil and the present one, allowing the inference of two typical profiles in Psychology School-Clinics in Brazil: children, male, referred by schools because of learning or behavior problems and young women, who sought, on their own initiative, psychological consultation due to affective problems. It is also important to mention how difficult it is to research about this topic, because there's no standardized, adequate and well-filled out inpatient registration in Psychology School-Clinics.

Atendimento em clínicas-escola de psicologia da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre

Abstract: Survey's research about clients form University Psychology Clinics in the 80's and 90's indicated that the psychological services were inefficient. Although many studies about University Psychology Clinics have been conducted in Brazil, there are few in Rio Grande do Sul. This study is a research about therapeutic practices and theoretical orientation modality developed at University Psychology Clinics from Porto Alegre Metropolitan Region. The present paper also describes patient's screening and helping processes, as well as verifies index of other institutions' referring, treatment ending and dropping out. Data indicates many kinds of therapeutic practices and theoretical orientation in all University Psychology Clinics of this research. 11.88% of the clientele were referred to other institutions, 38.21% have given up the attending process and 15.79% of the patients discharged: positive results comparing to the literature.
