TL;DR: In this paper, an integrated methodology has been developed to refine the priority map of the aforementioned KPIs based on consensus building among experts using Kappa analysis and total interpretive structural modeling (TISM) to demonstrate relationships which explain the significance of the KPIs.
Abstract: Sustainability is an integrating concept and demands strategic attention in developing countries like India. Due to strict environmental regulations and ongoing government sustainable policies such as “Namami Gange,” leather industries are extensively facing challenges to conform themselves toward these sustainable policies. The major challenge faced by leather industries is the exponentially increasing cost of adaptation to sustainable product and process. Under these operational constraints, survival of Indian leather industries has become a major challenge. In this context, this paper aims to identify and evaluate sustainable manufacturing policies. The key performance indicators (KPIs) based on triple bottom line of sustainability can assist leather industries that are about to initiate adopting sustainable practices.,This paper demonstrates the role of KPIs for evaluating sustainable manufacturing policies for leather industries in India. Initially, an in-depth literature review analysis has been carried out to identify indicators for evaluation of sustainable manufacturing policies. In this work, an integrated methodology has been developed to refine the priority map of the aforementioned KPIs based on consensus building among experts using Kappa analysis. Total interpretive structural modeling (TISM) has been used to demonstrate relationships which explain the significance of the KPIs. Further, Matriced Impact Croises Multiplication Applique analysis has been carried out to explore the relationships amongst KPIs.,Based on above analysis, identified interactive relationships among the KPIs will assist managers and decision-makers to incorporate effective sustainable policies in leather industries.,It is expected that these identified interactive interrelationships between KPIs will certainly facilitate the leather industry to achieve higher sustainable performance and competitiveness.,This study carries out an in-depth literature review analysis of sustainable manufacturing policies in leather industry. The author proposes an integrated methodology using kappa analysis, consensus building and TISM for evaluation of sustainable policies based on the literature review analysis and expert opinion.

TL;DR: The main focus of as mentioned in this paper is on the energy sources as these are the main components in EVs towards making them eco-friendly and cost-effective, and many topologies of EVs are based on the diverse combination of batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitor, flywheels, regenerative braking systems, which are used as energy sources and energy storage devices.
Abstract: The sharp inclination in the emissions from conventional vehicles contribute to a significant increase in environmental issues, besides the energy crises and low conversion efficiency leads to the evolution of electric vehicles (EV). Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) have efficient fuel economy and reduce the overall running cost, but the ultimate goal is to shift completely to the pure electric vehicle. Despite this, the main obstruction of HEV is energy storage capability. An EV requires high specific power (W/kg) and high specific energy (W·h/kg) to increase the distance travelled and reduce the time required for charging. The main focus of this paper is on the energy sources as these are the main components in EVs towards making them eco-friendly and cost-effective. Various topologies of EV technology such as HEVs, plug-in HEVs, and many more have been discussed. These topologies of EVs are based on the diverse combination of batteries, fuel cells, super-capacitor, flywheels, regenerative braking systems, which are used as energy sources and energy storage devices.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide an outline of the hybrid floating solar system, which can be used to generate renewable energy, and summarize the key benefits and constraints of floating solar PV (FPV) in hybrid operation.
Abstract: The world’s demand for electricity will double by 2050. Despite its high potential as an eco-friendly technology for generating electricity, solar energy only covers a small percentage of the global demand. One of the challenges is associated with the sustainable use of land resources. Floating PV (FPV) plants on water bodies such as a dam, reservoir, canal, etc. are being increasingly developed worldwide as an alternative choice. In this background, the purpose of this research is to provide an outline of the hybrid floating solar system, which can be used to generate renewable energy. The hybrid technologies discussed include: FPV + hydro systems, FPV + pumped hydro, FPV + wave energy converter, FPV + solar tree, FPV + tracking, FPV + conventional power, FPV + hydrogen. The review also summarizes the key benefits and constraints of floating solar PV (FPV) in hybrid operation. Among the various hybrid FPV technologies, with solar input and hydro energy were among the most promising methods that could be potentially used for efficient power generation. The valuable concepts presented in this work provide a better understanding and may ignite sustainable hybrid floating installations for socio-economic growth with less environmental impact.
