Journal ArticleDOI
SEDDS: A game changing approach for the oral administration of hydrophilic macromolecular drugs.
TL;DR: Owing to these properties advanced SEDDS turned out to be a game changing approach for the oral administration of hydrophobic ion pairing with oppositely charged lipophilic auxiliary agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a UV-spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous determination of aspirin and paracetamol in tablets
Ghulam Murtaza,Izhar Hussain,Shujaat Ali Khan,Arham Shabbir,Arshad Mahmood,Muhammad Hassham Hassan Bin Asad,Kalsoom Farzanal,Nadia Shamshad Malik +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a specific, rapid and simple UV spectrophotometric method with good sensitivity was developed and validated for the simultaneous quantification of aspirin and paracetamol in standard solutions and tablets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optical diagnosis of malaria infection in human plasma using Raman spectroscopy
Muhammad Bilal,Muhammad Saleem,Samina Tufail Amanat,Huma Abdul Shakoor,Rashad Rashid,Arshad Mahmood,Mushtaq Ahmed +6 more
TL;DR: A multivariate regression model has been developed that utilized Raman spectra of 20 malaria- Infected, 10 non-malarial with fever, 10 healthy, and 6 dengue-infected samples to optically predict the malaria infection and was found to be 86% accurate compared with the clinical results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thiolated chitosan micelles: Highly mucoadhesive drug carriers.
TL;DR: Thiol functionalized micelles based on amphiphilic chitosan-stearic acid-thioglycolic acid (CSA-TGA) conjugate could be promising carriers for mucosal drug delivery and takes possibility to incorporate both lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs into these micells into account.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and characterization of thiolated β-cyclodextrin as a novel mucoadhesive excipient for intra-oral drug delivery
Muhammad Ijaz,Barbara Matuszczak,Deni Rahmat,Arshad Mahmood,Sonja Bonengel,Shah Hussain,Christian W. Huck,Andreas Bernkop-Schnürch +7 more
TL;DR: It seems that β-CD-Cys conjugates might provide a new promising tool for delivery of poorly water soluble therapeutic agents, such as miconazole nitrate for intra-oral drug delivery.
