Design of novel cross slot fed hexagonal dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) of dimension 20× 20 × 10 mm3 having substrate of material FR-4 is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna has a frequency range of 6.60–7.14 GHz in C-band, which includes the INSAT transmission frequency (6.725–7.025 GHz). The design frequency here is taken as 6.855 GHz which is fit for the application of STM link 1 and also applicable for the advanced microwave scanning radiometer channels (AMSR-E) of the earth monitoring system aqua satellite. The concepts and design parameters of the proposed antenna is theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified. The hybrid mode HEM 111 is achieved by using a symmetric cross slot. The simulated impedance bandwidth and the radiation efficiency are found to be 7.88% and 93.7% respectively.

Design and Simulation of Deep Nanometer SRAM Cells under Energy, Mismatch, and Radiation Constraints

The usual way of modeling variability using threshold voltage shift and drain current amplification is becoming inaccurate as new sources of variability appear in sub-22nm devices. In this work we apply the four-injector approach for variability modeling to the simulation of SRAMs with predictive technology models from 20nm down to 7nm nodes. We show that the SRAMs, designed following ITRS roadmap, present stability metrics higher by at least 20 % compared to a classical variability modeling approach. Speed estimation is also pessimistic, whereas leakage is underestimated if sub-threshold slope and DIBL mismatch and their correlations with threshold voltage are not considered.

Four-injector variability modeling of FinFET predictive technology models

Till today CMOS scaling is considered as the best option to achieve higher density, high performance and low power integrated circuits. However, scaling of conventional planar MOSFET in the sub-45nm regime leads to many undesirable short channel effects. FinFET is considered as the suitable candidate for the replacement of conventional planar MOSFETs. In this work, suitability of FinFETs for replacement of planar bulk technology in sub-20nm regime has been verified using Predictive Technology Models. For this purpose, the performance of the FinFET based SRAM cell is compared with conventional planar Bulk based SRAM cell. Moreover, robustness of FinFET based SRAM cell against process, temperature and power supply variations is evaluated and compared with conventional planar based SRAM cell. Our simulation results confirms the suitability of FinFETs for the replacement of conventional planar CMOS technology.

A Novel Design for C-Slot RMSA Yielding Quadruple Frequency

Design and development work is ongoing to make 2.6 cell photocathode RF Gun with a mode separation of about 15 MHz. This paper provides information on the comparison of simulation results of the 2.6 cells using Superfish and HFSS code. The cavities designed are tuned to achieve π mode frequency of 2856 MHz with a field balance of 1. In the next stage we are making fabrication drawings and will initiate fabrication of RF gun cavity in near future.
