TL;DR: In this article, the role of socio-demographic factors on consumers' pro-environmental behavior (PEB) was examined and its implications in an emerging market, with a sample study from India.
Abstract: We examine the role of socio-demographic factors on consumers’ pro-environmental behavior (PEB)–a subset of ethical behavior and analyze its implications in an emerging market, with a sample study from India. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was performed as research method. Results show that males display higher PEB than their female counterparts. Married consumers score more on PEB than single. Mid-age consumers (36–50) also score high on PEB than young and old-age consumers. Furthermore, highly educated consumers are more pro-environmentalist than graduates and post-graduates. The novelty of this study is that centers on the use of demographic variables interactively in order to form microsegments. For instance, married men score more on PEB scale than unmarried men and women and prefer green channels even more (i.e., public transportation). On the contrary, unmarried women display no hesitation in paying more for energy-efficient goods compared to married men and unmarried men. Marketers may aim in setting such PEBs as the moral standards among consumers being an easily identifiable segment as their prime target.

TL;DR: Cases occurred mostly in men who have sex with men and were of serotype 3a, which is usually travel-related and was of serotypes 3a of S. flexneri.
Abstract: Diagnoses of Shigella flexneri in the United Kingdom (UK) are usually travel-related. However, since 2009, there has been an overall increase in UK-acquired cases. The Health Protection Agency has been investigating a national outbreak of S. flexneri detected in 2011 and which is still ongoing. Cases occurred mostly in men who have sex with men and were of serotype 3a. The investigation aimed at obtaining epidemiological data to inform targeted outbreak management and control.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the stock market indices of India (SENSEX), Hong Kong (HANGSENG), Mexico (MXX), Russia (RTS), Brazil (BVSP), UK (FTSE-100) and US (DJIA and NASDAQ) using the daily Index data from July 1, 1997 to June 30, 2008.
Abstract: The twenty-first century may well be the time when the balance of power shifts to Brazil, Russia, India and China, nations collectively referred to as BRICs economies. These nations constitute the shape of the future, giving rise to a new world economy. Leaders in BRICs are frenetically laying the groundwork for decades of new growth. Foreign Investors are investing considerably in the emerging economies with mainly two objectives; (1) To enhance the portfolio growth and; (2) To reduce portfolio risk through efficient international portfolio diversification. This paper studies various alternative techniques for recognizing co-movement resulting among the selected developed stock markets and the emerging stock markets of the world. The leading indices of the selected stock markets are considered as proxies of the markets. Using the daily Index data from July 1, 1997 to June 30, 2008, authors examine the stock market indices of India (SENSEX), Hong Kong (HANGSENG), Mexico (MXX), Russia (RTS), Brazil (BVSP), UK (FTSE-100) and US (DJIA and NASDAQ). Co-integration technique has been employed to study the short term and long-term relationships between the market pairs. The paper explores the issues like contributions of national market volatilities, external world market volatility, and some other factors influencing the correlation between stock market returns.

Abstract: On 16 April 2008, public health authorities in North West England were notified of six suspected cases of non-pulmonary legionellosis, five of whom were admitted to three different hospitals and one seen by a general practitioner. These cases presented with influenza-like symptoms: fever, headache, and muscle pain, with or without nausea. They were part of a group of seven women who had spent the weekend of 11-13 April at a residential leisure resort where they were using a spa pool (otherwise known as Jacuzzi or whirlpool).
