Parallel processing of regions represented by linear quadtrees
TL;DR: It is shown how computation of geometric properties of a region represented by a linear quadtree can be speeded up by about a factor of p by using a p -processor CREW PRAM model of parallel computation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Networks of Automata: Some Applications
TL;DR: It is shown that parallel web automata make poor acceptors, but they can be used to perform parallel local pattern matching on themselves, so that they have potential usefulness as models for ``semantic memory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Texture discrimination by projective invariants
TL;DR: A theorem is presented which shows that statistics of cross ratios of groups of four collinear points are a projective invariant and the distance between normalized vectors is used as the similarity measure for texture discrimination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determining Simplicity and Computing Topological Change in Strongly Normal Partial Tilings of R2 or R3
Punam K. Saha,Azriel Rosenfeld +1 more
TL;DR: Methods of determining, for an SN partial tiling P, whether a tile P∈ P ′ is simple, and if not, of counting the numbers of components and holes in N ∗ (P, P ) .
Journal ArticleDOI
A Medial Axis Transformation for Grayscale Pictures
TL;DR: The GRADMAT as discussed by the authors is a generalization of the medial axis transformation, in which a score is computed for each point P of a grayscale picture based on the gradient magnitudes at pairs of points that have P as their midpoint.
