Wintertime aerosol characteristics over the Indo‐Gangetic Plain (IGP): Impacts of local boundary layer processes and long‐range transport
Vijayakumar S. Nair,K. Krishna Moorthy,Denny P. Alappattu,P. K. Kunhikrishnan,Susan K. George,Prabha R. Nair,S. Suresh Babu,B. Abish,Sathianeson Satheesh,Sachchida Nand Tripathi,K. Niranjan,B. L. Madhavan,V. Srikant,C. B. S. Dutt,K. V. S. Badarinath,R. Ramakrishna Reddy +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effects of mesoscale processes associated with changes in the local atmospheric boundary layer (ABL), and examined the changes as the season changes over to spring and summer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiative forcing of black carbon over eastern India
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a 7 channel Aethalometer at Visakhapatnam, a coastal tropical station on the east coast of India, to study the temporal variation of surface BC mass concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The HD(CP)2 Observational Prototype Experiment (HOPE) was performed as a major 2-month field experiment in Julich, Germany in April and May 2013, followed by a smaller campaign in Melpitz, Germany, in September 2013.

Micro pulse lidar observation of high altitude aerosol layers at Visakhapatnam located on the east coast of India
TL;DR: A micro-pulse lidar at Visakhapatnam, a station located on the east coast of peninsular India showed certain high altitude aerosol layers during the months of March/April 2005, 2006 Co-located aerosol optical depth measurements show an increase in AOD by 005 to 025 during the event when the layers were observed as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wintertime aerosol characteristics at a north Indian site Kharagpur in the Indo‐Gangetic plains located at the outflow region into Bay of Bengal
TL;DR: N Niranjan et al. as discussed by the authors used a micropulse lidar to measure aerosol spectral optical depths and near-surface mass concentrations at Indian Institute of Technology campus, Kharagpur located under the vent region in the Indo-Gangetic plains during the winter month of December 2004.
