The objective of this review paper is to provide an overview of the current state-of-the-art in solar road deployment, including the availability of anti-reflection and anti-soiling coating materials for photovoltaic (PV) technology. Solar roads are built using embedded PV panels that convert sunlight into electricity, which can be stored for later use. Prototypes of solar roads have been tested on various continents, but the lack of suitable PV materials has limited their effectiveness compared to conventional PV systems. By analyzing the existing literature on solar roads and PV materials, including anti-reflection and anti-soiling coatings, we aim to identify gaps in knowledge and propose an action plan to improve the resiliency, durability, and reliability of PV panels in solar road applications. This will enable the deployment of solar roads as a clean, renewable energy source.

Review of Current State-of-the-Art Research on Photovoltaic Soiling, Anti-Reflective Coating, and Solar Roads Deployment Supported by a Pilot Experiment on a PV Road

According to the World Bank statistical report, Vietnam has an average of 1,600-2,700 hours of sunshine and normal direct radiation averaging 4-5 kWh per square meter a day. Before 2017, solar energy was considered worthless in Vietnam's energy development strategy, but by the end of 2019, Vietnam overtook Malaysia and Thailand to become the country with the largest solar panel installation capacity in Southeast Asia. The photovoltaic projects in Vietnam has reached 5 gigawatts (GW), far exceeding from the target of 1 GW that proposed by the Government in 2020 [1]. The strong development of solar energy from industry to civil activities has led to the development of ancillary services such as installation, maintenance and commerce. To ensure the productivity, all solar panels must be cleaned to absorb solar energy as much as possible. In the paper, we mention on the design of a solar panel cleaning robot that has a compact size, easy to move through the panels, taking advantage of domestic factors to have an edge price. The highlight point in that work is our application of the modularity method to gain the best competition with the other existing products on the market.

A design of solar battery cleaning system by modularity method

This paper is about the cleaning of a solar panel. In rural areas, most of the solar street lights are used. After the installation of the solar street light, it only works for two to three months. Because, that panels are installed at a height near about 15 to 20 feet, at this hight cleaning is not possible by using a ladder. If the solar panel is not cleaned regularly, then the dust in environment accumulates on the surface of the solar panel. This dust converts into a thick sticky layer due to morning dewdrops. Due to this dust solar panels not give a sufficient charging current that required for the charging of a battery. if the battery is not fully charged, then it does not gives the desired output and we have to replace that battery. It increases the cost of maintenance. In this paper, we design a cleaning system for a solar street light. which can be operated automatically and it helps us to clean solar panels without any efforts. This system reduces human efforts, it saves time, it works automatically at a specified time. Overall it increases the efficiency of the solar street light. This system is designed using an ATmega16A microcontroller due to it's advance features. It also uses GSM module, linear actuator, limit switches, DC gear motors, Roller brush, and DC submersible pump. Here, GSM Module is used for real-time operation, linear actuators for the movement of the brush. The gear motors are coupled with a brush for the rotation of brush, the pump is used to lift the water from ground surface to upper surface of a solar panel for water cleaning purpose.

Power Quality Analysis by using Active Filter in AC/DC Microgrid

A hybrid microgrid is composed of combination of the AC and DC grid which are interlined with bidirectional converter. To avoid the multiple conversion and more reliable the proposed hybrid microgrid is designed by taking diesel generators, Photovoltaic cell, induction generators and battery bank. It is connected to the utility grid in normal operating mode. During fault condition, it should disconnect and shift into island operation mode. This paper proposes a standalone hybrid generation system, fed by induction generator which is run with a battery banks, solar power, and storage battery. Hybrid microgrid is an excellent solution for electrification of remote rural areas where the grid extension is very difficult and not economical. Practically it has been seen that most of the isolated grid is powered by the diesel generation system, such systems has several problems like high cost fuel with extra transportation cost and making more pollution to the environment .To make pollution free environment ,an eco-friendly hybrid microgrid system has designed. It maintains the power quality in steady state condition. During this transient condition, the voltage and frequency of the microgrid may change rapidly due to low inertia present in microgrid. Therefore, local voltage and frequency control is one of the major challenges in islanded condition. To achieve this particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is implemented in the proposed microgrid which is verified by MATLAB Simulink.
