Mean Burning Rate Variation in Composite Propellant Combustion Due to Longitudinal Acoustic Oscillations

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on investigating "combustion instability", a phenomenon that mainly involves the interaction of the propellant flames with the acoustic oscillations prevalent in full-scale rocke...
Journal ArticleDOI

Cowl Length Variation on Performance Characteristics of a Single Expansion Ramp Nozzle

TL;DR: Experiments have been carried out to investigate the effect of cowl length variation on performance characteristics of a single expansion ramp nozzle as mentioned in this paper, and the performance parameters were estimated for different cowl lengths.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acoustic pressure oscillation effects on mean burning rates of plateau propellants

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of acoustic pressure oscillations on mean burning rates of non-aluminized and aluminized propellants which exhibit low pressure exponent index (n) in the burning rate trends were investigated.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Performance Characteristics of Single Expansion Ramp Nozzle with Secondary Injection

TL;DR: In this paper , a Schlieren flow visualization technique was adopted to qualitatively understand the effect of injection in SERN and an oblique shock was generated by the influence of injection which impinges over the ramp surface and separate the unfavorable over-expanded flow.
