TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the impact of conditional cash transfer (CCT) on the educational performance of the students in the under-developed areas of Pakistan and found that the PMFRS was the most dominant predictor of students' performance indicating a high tangible source of students’ motivation.
Abstract: This study was motivated by the initiatives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan that provides various conditional cash transfers (CCTs) to youth education in the less developed areas of the country. The CCTs are given to youth in the shape of HEC Need-Based Scholarships (HEC-NBS) and the Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme (PMFRS). This study investigates the impact of the CCTs on the educational performance of the students in the under-developed areas of Pakistan. Data were gathered through self-administered questionnaires from the students who were awardees of the scholarships. A total of 350 responses were used for the final analysis. A statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 25 was used to get the data analyzed. It was found that the two CCTs (HEC-NBS and PMFRS) substantially affect the educational performance of the students. The PMFRS was the most dominant predictor of the students’ performance indicating a high tangible source of students’ motivation. This study helps in both theoretical and practical spectrums. It practically helps expand the higher education to every nook of the country as well as light the policy-making outlines to sustain the CCTs for the better future of higher education in Pakistan.

TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted with an aim to assess the impacts of leader ethical role modeling and leader safety role modeling on the morally courageous behavior among employees, and also checked the mediation of moral emotions, including moral sympathy, moral contempt and moral anger and disgust.
Abstract: The study is conducted with an aim to assess the impacts of leader ethical role modeling and leader safety role modeling on the morally courageous behavior among employees. The study has also checked the mediation of moral emotions, including moral sympathy, moral contempt and moral anger and disgust in between the relationship of leader ethical role modeling and morally courageous behavior among employees, and also between the relationship of leader safety role modeling and morally courageous behavior among employees. Quantitative data is collected from 364 employees, supervisors that are working together at the workplace and have high interaction and social exchange relationships. Data analysis by applying SPSS and Amos has revealed significant and positive impact of leader safety role modeling on the morally courageous behavior among employees, whereas the impact of leader ethical role modeling is found to be insignificant. The mediation of moral sympathy, moral contempt and moral anger and disgust in the relationship between leader ethical role modeling and morally courageous behavior, and also between the relationship of leader safety role modeling and morally courageous behavior is found to be significant and positive. The research has expanded the literature by considering moral emotions for developing the morally courageous behavior in the employees and to maximize the organizational outcomes as well.

TL;DR: The authors explored the potential of blogs as learning spaces for students in the higher education sector, and concluded that blogging has the potential to be a transformational technology for teaching and learning in higher education.
Abstract: 'Blogging' - a contraction of the term 'web logging' - is perhaps best described as a form of micro-publishing. Easy to use, from any Internet connection point, blogging has become firmly established as a web based communications tool. The blogging phenomenon has evolved from its early origin as a medium for the publication of simple, online personal diaries, to the latest disruptive technology, the 'killer app' that has the capacity to engage people in collaborative activity, knowledge sharing, reflection and debate (Hiler, 2003). Many blogs have large and dedicated readerships, and blog clusters have formed linking fellow bloggers in accordance with their common interests. This paper explores the potential of blogs as learning spaces for students in the higher education sector. It refers to the nascent literature on the subject, explores methods for using blogs for educational purposes in university courses (eg. Harvard Law School), and records the experience of the Brisbane Graduate School of Business at Queensland University of Technology, with its 'MBA blog'. The paper concludes that blogging has the potential to be a transformational technology for teaching and learning.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors analyze the behavioral intention of mathematics teachers in using micro-lectures in mathematics in China, and identify the most influential factors involved, for the very first time.
Abstract: In the last decade, micro-lectures have been widely used to teach mathematics, but only a few studies have examined the factors affecting teachers’ intentions of using micro-lectures. As teachers are key to integrating modern technologies such as micro-lectures into students’ learning processes, knowledge about teachers’ intentions in this regard could be of particular importance. This study aimed to analyze the behavioral intention (BI) of mathematics teachers in using micro-lectures in mathematics in China, and identify the most influential factors involved, for the very first time. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was used as a design model to investigate teachers’ BIs concerning the use of micro-lectures, and we used an online questionnaire to collect quantitative data. The participants in our research were 174 mathematics teachers from China, 166 of whom provided us with evaluable questionnaire data. Furthermore, partial least squares (PLS) regression was used, and hypothesis testing was performed with the Smart-PLS software. From the results, BI was positively affected by Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), and Social Influence (SI). BI and facility conditions also had positive effects on user behavior; in contrast to other studies, SI had the most significant positive effect on BIs in our study. Our findings could provide insights into both future strategies for successful technology integration in mathematics classes and into mathematics teachers’ intentions towards integrating technologies into mathematics teaching.

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the dimensions of social entrepreneurial orientation (SEO): social vision, social proactiveness, innovativeness, and risk-taking motive on graduate students' entrepreneurial intention toward social entrepreneurship-based business start-up was examined empirically.
Abstract: In prior studies, several researchers have adopted entrepreneurial orientation (EO) in determining students’ intention toward entrepreneurship, although the application of EO is scant in determining intention toward social entrepreneurship in existing literature. Hence, in consideration of this research gap, the current study empirically examines the influence of the dimensions of social entrepreneurial orientation (SEO): social vision, social proactiveness, innovativeness, and risk-taking motive on graduate students’ entrepreneurial intention toward social entrepreneurship-based business start-up. An online-based survey method was used to collect data from a sample of 465 students purposively who were studying at different universities in Bangladesh. A PLS-based SEM was applied to analyze the data and examined the proposed relationships in the conceptual model. The findings reveal that Graduate students’ social proactiveness, innovativeness, and risk-taking motive significantly affect their social entrepreneurial intention. However, students’ social vision does not have direct influence but has indirect influence on social entrepreneurial intention through their social entrepreneurial attitudes. The research contributes to the body of knowledge in the existing social entrepreneurship literature as well as provides practical implications for the policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders working toward flourishing of social-based entrepreneurship, venture, and start-up.

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the existing scientific literature on social entrepreneurship to contribute to a systematization of the research field is presented, and a keyword co-occurrence analysis is performed to detect key topics over the years.
Abstract: Social entrepreneurship (SE) is an emerging research field that has received much scholarly attention in recent years. Given the global scope of this attention, this review explores the existing scientific literature on social entrepreneurship to contribute to a systematization of the research field. Based on the publications in Web of Science and Scopus, a total of 1425 scientific articles were analyzed. We used the bibliometric method to describe the evolution of social entrepreneurship research (e.g., evaluation by years, authors, scientific journal articles, and countries in the SE literature that have had the greatest impact in terms of production). In addition, we used the mapping of knowledge networks through the citations and co-citations analysis to identify schools of thought. A keyword co-occurrence analysis was performed to detect key research topics over the years. The results show that, although the research is still in a nascent phase, it has a multidisciplinary character. Furthermore, social entrepreneurship appears to be a concept closely linked to three schools of thought: commercial entrepreneurship, sustainable entrepreneurship, and social innovation. The keywords analysis allowed us to isolate the constructs that the literature has considered antecedents (e.g., socio-psychological factors) and accelerators (e.g., education, network, culture, and gender) to the development of social entrepreneurial intention. We will further discuss the ways researchers can explore this research field and contribute to the global literature.
