Journal ArticleDOI
Vertebrobasilar dissection with subarachnoid hemorrhage: a retrospective study of 29 patients.
TL;DR: Endovascular treatment may be a rational approach in patients at high risk of re-bleeding, especially those with a pseudoaneurysm, according to initial diagnostic features, treatment, and outcome in 29 patients with acute subarachnoid hemorrhage diagnosed between 1993 and 2003.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endovascular Treatment Using Predominantly Stent-Assisted Coil Embolization and Antiplatelet and Anticoagulation Management of Ruptured Blood Blister-Like Aneurysms.
Stephan Meckel,Tejinder Singh,Per Undrén,Birgitta Ramgren,Ola Nilsson,Constantine C. Phatouros,William McAuliffe,Mats Cronqvist +7 more
TL;DR: Stent-assisted coiling of ruptured BBAs is technically challenging but can be done with good midterm results, and reduced periprocedural and postprocedural antiplatelet/anticoagulation protocols may be used with a low reasonable risk of thromboembolic complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diffusion and perfusion MRI in patients with ruptured and unruptured intracranial aneurysms treated by endovascular coiling: complications, procedural results, MR findings and clinical outcome.
Mats Cronqvist,Ronnie Wirestam,Birgitta Ramgren,Lennart Brandt,Ola Nilsson,Hans Säveland,Stig Holtås,Elna-Marie Larsson +7 more
TL;DR: Evaluated treatment safety as well as complications frequency and management in endovascular coiling of intracerebral aneurysms using MR diffusion and perfusion imaging found Silent embolism seems to be more common than clinically evident and partially related to patient presentation, heparinazation and treatment strategy.
Journal Article
Endovascular treatment of intracerebral arteriovenous malformations: procedural safety, complications, and results evaluated by MR imaging, including diffusion and perfusion imaging.
Mats Cronqvist,Ronnie Wirestam,Birgitta Ramgren,Lennart Brandt,Bertil Romner,Ola Nilsson,Hans Säveland,Stig Holtås,Elna-Marie Larsson +8 more
TL;DR: Endovascular procedures are rather safe but are associated with more ischemic events and followed by less hemodynamic disturbances than previously understood.
Journal ArticleDOI
Follow-up of intracranial aneurysms treated with detachable coils: comparison of 3D inflow MRA at 3T and 1.5T and contrast-enhanced MRA at 3T with DSA
Birgitta Ramgren,Roger Siemund,Mats Cronqvist,Per Undrén,Ola Nilsson,Stig Holtås,Elna-Marie Larsson,Elna-Marie Larsson +7 more
TL;DR: 3T MRA, using a sensitivity encoding head-coil, showed better agreement with DSA than 1.5T and CE-MRA at 3T for evaluation of aneurysms treated with endovascular coiling.
