A three-dimensional study on methane hydrate decomposition with different methods using five-spot well

TL;DR: In this article, the cubic hydrate simulator (chs) is used to study the methane hydrate production behaviors in porous media with three different methods, which are the depressurization (dp) using a single well, the heat stimulation using five-spot well (hs-5s), and the heat stimulating in conjunction with depressurisation using five spot well (hd environmental temperatures are all 281.15 k; and the production pressures are ranged from 4.7 mpa to 7.4 mpa).
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental and Numerical Studies on Gas Production from Methane Hydrate in Porous Media by Depressurization in Pilot-Scale Hydrate Simulator

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the dissociation processes of methane hydrate in porous media using the depressurization method and a combination of experimental observations and numerical simulations, and the initial hydrate and aqueous saturations before dissociation were SH0 = 27% and SA0 = 37% in volume, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study on gas production from methane hydrate in porous media by huff and puff method in Pilot-Scale Hydrate Simulator

TL;DR: Pilot-Scale Hydrate Simulator (PHS) as mentioned in this paper was developed to investigate the gas production from methane hydrate in porous media using the huff and puff method, and the experimental results indicate that with the constant hot water injection rate, the range of the thermal diffusion is restricted around the well, and depressurization rather than thermal stimulation is dominant for gas production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical simulation of gas production potential from permafrost hydrate deposits by huff and puff method in a single horizontal well in Qilian Mountain, Qinghai province

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employed the huff and puff method using a single horizontal well in the middle of the Hydrate-Bearing Layer (HBL) to numerically investigate the gas production potential from hydrates at the DK-3 drilling site of the Qilian Mountain permafrost, which is located in the north of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau.
Journal ArticleDOI

The use of electrical heating for the enhancement of gas recovery from methane hydrate in porous media

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the gas production behaviors of methane hydrate dissociation induced by depressurization and electrical heating in a Cuboid Pressure Vessel (CPV) with an effective volume of 1.5L.
