Wide temperature cycling of Li-metal batteries with hydrofluoroether dilution of high-concentration electrolyte

TL;DR: In this article, Li-metal batteries over a wide temperature range (5-60°C) were investigated by exploiting a model HCE composed of lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide and 1,2-dimethoxyethane as well as an HCE diluted with 1,1,2,2-, 2,3,3-tetrafluoropropyl ether (TTE).

Physicochemical nature of polarization components limiting the fast operation of Li-ion batteries

TL;DR: In this article, the authors comprehensively review the physicochemical properties of electrochemical polarization arising during charge/discharge reactions in Li-ion batteries and discuss their physicochemical nature, focusing on those due to Ohmic polarization in the electrolyte, interfacial charge transfer, concentration gradients in solid and electrolyte phases, ion transport within the electrode pores, and electronic resistance of the composite electrode and current collector interface.
Journal ArticleDOI

A crystalline organic electrolyte for safe, room-temperature operable all-solid-state sodium batteries

TL;DR: In this article, a sulfone-based crystalline organic electrolytes (SCOEs) composed of dimethyl sulfone (DMS) and sodium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (NaFSI) was proposed.
