In this case, more books you read more knowledge you know, but it can mean also the bore is full.

The archaeology of knowledge

The preceding chapters highlight a number of aspects of religion which depart from, fundamentally modify and recontextualize the received wisdom about religion, especially as it has been understood through the prism of classical sociology. Each of the distinct sources of the classical perspective outlines an understanding of religion that – while contrasting with other understandings – has been taken with the others to represent the various facets of religion in the modern world. And yet none of these facets of religion is today found in forms projected by the sociological luminaries. Emile Durkheim famously characterized religion in terms of a distinction he believed inherent in all religions, namely that between the sacred and the profane. The sacred, Durkheim held, was a symbolic form of the enduring and defining values of the society itself in which the religion in question resides. But the coherence of a more or less societally wide normative consensus that Durkheim assumes in making this claim is in fact not to be found in modern societies. This is largely because the populations of modern societies are not unitary in terms of their origins and historical memory, either through geographic mobility that accompanies modern occupational careers or through international migration, which has been a major demographic factor throughout the twentieth century and promises to continue in the present. Associated with these trends, the idea of the sacred – which requires a traditional understanding of received meaning supported by ritual practices – has given way if not to a scientific to at least a mundane utilitarian and therefore market set of values.

Este artigo contribui para o debate sobre construcionismo social na sociologia da saude e da doenca atraves de um estudo da lesao entre bailarinos. Neste estudo empirico dos bailarinos classicos, delineamos uma fenomenologia do corpo lesionado e do envelhecimento em termos de um comentario critico ao construcionismo. Nos exploramos as experiencias de corporificacao dos dancarinos para ilustrar nossa critica as recentes interpretacoes da danca como uma pratica textual. Essas formas de construcionismo que definem o corpo como um texto fornecem um poderoso ataque aos discursos de autoridade e legitimacao, mas argumentamos que elas sao problematicas como epistemologias e ontologias da corporificacao. Por meio de uma compreensao epistemologica das experiencias de corporificacao, observamos como a lesao e o envelhecimento promovem uma disrupcao das realizacoes praticas que firmam o habitus de bale e a identidade do dancarino. Embora as lesoes possam por fim a carreira de um dancarino, elas sao aceitas como uma parte inevitavel da vocacao do bale. Nosso objetivo e entender a interacao entre as lesoes, as experiencias de desconforto dos dancarinos e o apoio social que emerge dos bailarinos como um grupo social. Nos fazemos uso dos conceitos de solidariedade social e consciencia coletiva em Emile Durkheim para demonstrar que a lesao e mediada atraves da coesao social dos dancarinos em uma companhia de bale profissional, onde a lesao e aceita como um signo de compromisso vocacional, e sugerimos que essa "efervescencia coletiva" da um novo sentido a ideia de um corps de ballet.
