The Isotopic Composition of Methane in Polar Ice Cores

TL;DR: Air bubbles in polar ice cores indicate that about 300 years ago the atmospheric mixing ratio of methane began to increase rapidly, and, having doubled once in the past several hundred years, it will double again in the next 60 years if current rates continue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solar neutrinos: proposal for a new test.

TL;DR: The predicted flux on the earth of solar neutrinos has eluded detection, confounding current ideas of solar energy production by nuclear fusion, but the dominant low-energy component of that flux can be detected by mass-spectrometric assay of the induced tiny concentration of 1.6 x 107 year lead-205 in old thallium minerals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nuclear constants of nine transplutonium nuclides

TL;DR: The total half-lives of 252Cf, 250Cf and 253Cf are 2.646 ± 0.004 years, 13·2 ± 0·5 years and 17·6 ± 0 ·2 days as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transplutonium elements in thermonuclear test debris

TL;DR: In this paper, the isotopes of curium, berkelium and californium found in the thermonuclear debris of the November 1952 nuclear test are discussed and the instantaneous buildup of the heavy elements in the nuclear device is compared with the buildup during pile irradiation.
