Microstructures and mechanical properties of AA6061–SiC composites prepared through spark plasma sintering and hot rolling

TL;DR: In this article, AA6061-SiC composites were synthesized through spark plasma sintering and hot rolling and the microstructures of these composites exhibited excellent SiC particle distribution in the AA 6061 matrices, high dislocation density, and ultrafine Al matrix grain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of microstructure, damping capacity and mechanical properties of Al-35Zn and Al-35Zn-0.5Sc alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented an effective strategy for preparing Al alloys with excellent damping capacity and mechanical properties, including high strength and reasonable ductility, by adding 0.5 Sc to Al-35Zn-0.5Sc alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hot Deformation Behaviour of SiC/AA6061 Composites Prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering

TL;DR: In this paper, the deformation behavior of SiC/AA6061 composites was studied by uniaxial compression test at temperatures from 573 K to 773µK and strain rates between 0.001 s−1 and 1 ǫ s−1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quench sensitivity and microstructures of high-Zn-content Al−Zn−Mg−Cu alloys with different Cu contents and Sc addition

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of Zn and Cu contents and Sc addition on the microstructures, hardness, and quench sensitivity of the 7xxx Al alloys were studied, and the results showed that high Zn−high Cu and Sc-added alloys exhibited higher hardness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Precipitation behavior and mechanical properties of Al–Zn–Mg alloy with high Zn concentration

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of Mg content on the precipitation behavior and resultant mechanical properties of high Zn-content Al-Zn alloy was studied by adding Mg to Al-20 Zn alloy.
