Regulation of microRNA expression by HMGA1 proteins
I De Martino,I De Martino,Rosa Visone,Rosa Visone,Monica Fedele,Fabio Petrocca,Dario Palmieri,Josefina Martinez Hoyos,Floriana Forzati,Carlo M. Croce,Alfredo Fusco +10 more
TL;DR: A miRNA expression profile of mouse embryonic fibroblasts carrying two, one or no Hmga1 functional alleles using a microarray (miRNA microarray) is found, suggesting that HMGA1 proteins are able to downregulate the expression of the other member of the HMGA family through the regulation of the miR-196a-2 expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
FEZ1/LZTS1 is down-regulated in high-grade bladder cancer, and its restoration suppresses tumorigenicity in transitional cell carcinoma cells.
Andrea Vecchione,Hideshi Ishii,Gustavo Baldassarre,Pierfrancesco Bassi,Francesco Trapasso,Hansjuerg Alder,Francesco Pagano,Leonard G. Gomella,Carlo M. Croce,Raffaele Baffa +9 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that FEZ1/LZTS1 gene plays a role in the development of TCC of the urinary bladder by acting as a bona fide tumor suppressor gene both in vitro and in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elimination of chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells in stromal microenvironment by targeting CPT with an antiangina drug perhexiline
Pan-pan Liu,Jinyun Liu,Wen-qi Jiang,Jennifer S. Carew,Marcia A. Ogasawara,Helene Pelicano,Carlo M. Croce,Zeev Estrov,Rui-Hua Xu,Michael J. Keating,Peng Huang +10 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that targeting CPT using an antiangina drug is able to effectively eliminate leukemia cells in vivo, and is a novel therapeutic strategy for potential clinical treatment of CLL.
Patent
Methods for screening and treating leukemias resulting from all-1 region chromosome abnormalities
Carlo M. Croce,Eli Canaani +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Amino acid sequences corresponding to the cDNA sequences of the entire ALL-1 gene and the partial sequence of the AF-4 gene, and sequences relating to chimeric genes formed by chromosome translocations with chromosome 4, 9 and 19, respectively, are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Involvement of RhoH GTPase in the development of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Abel Sanchez-Aguilera,Abel Sanchez-Aguilera,Ina Rattmann,David Z. Drew,Lars U.W. Müller,Lars U.W. Müller,Victoria Summey,David M. Lucas,John C. Byrd,Carlo M. Croce,Yi Gu,Jose A. Cancelas,Patrick Johnston,T. Moritz,T. Moritz,David A. Williams,David A. Williams +16 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that RhoH has a function in the progression of CLL in a murine model and show RHoH expression is altered in human primary CLL samples.
