TL;DR: In this article, the insulation and conditioning cards for sensors that measure voltage and current signals for to be applied to harmonic control and compensation in an Active Power Filter (APF) are presented.
Abstract: This paper presents the design and implementation of the insulation and conditioning cards for sensors that measure voltage and current signals for to be applied to harmonic control and compensation in an Active Power Filter (APF). Then describes the characteristics and mathematical algorithm in the time domain technique used to obtain the reference current applied to digital control of a Shunt Single Phase Active Power Filter. Finally presents the simulation and integration of the instrumentation system with the algorithm to obtain reference currents implemented in a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) 56F8323 of Freescale®.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new control strategy to improve the performance of shunt active power filter (SAPF) in three-phase four-wire system when operating under an unbalanced system is presented.
Abstract: This paper presents a new control strategy to improve the performance of shunt active power filter (SAPF) in three-phase four-wire system when operating under an unbalanced system. A control method based on the instantaneous power theory have been used and discussed. On the other side, a threedimensional hysteresis current controller is used to track the compensated current references. This scheme requires the service of a phased-locked loop (PLL) to make the system insensitive to the distortions that are generally present in the utility voltages. The performance of the proposed topology under the used control approach has been finally discussed through the obtained simulation results.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of active filter applied to an auxiliary four-quadrant converter of electric locomotive or high speed train is presented, where the auxiliary power supply system is designed to generate an inverse harmonic current at AC side to produce the high frequency compensating current.
Abstract: This paper presents a method of active filter applied to auxiliary four- quadrant converter of electric locomotive or high speed train. In this technique, auxiliary power supply system is designed to generate an inverse harmonic current at AC side to produce the high frequency compensating current. So the auxiliary four- quadrant converter should operate at a high speed with the application of SiC devices. The results and effectiveness of the scheme is verified by simulation.

TL;DR: Three-level four-legged active power filter based on neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverter is presented to fulfill the requirement of the active power filtering function under balanced, unbalance and distorted power supply voltages.
Abstract: Reactive and harmonic currents that are being injected in the power supply by nonlinear loads, cause an increasing deterioration of the power system voltages and currents. Whereas active power filter (APF) have been widely used to overcome this problem and to improve the power quality delivered by the power supply. In this paper, three-level four-legged active power filter based on neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverter is presented. To fulfill the requirement of the active power filtering function under balanced, unbalance and distorted (including 3rd and 5th harmonics) power supply voltages, A control methods based on the instantaneous power theory have been used and discussed. On the otherside, the inverter switching state control has been achieved based on PWM current controller. The performance of the proposed topology under the used control approach has been finally discussed through the obtained simulation results.
