TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider mechanisms through which family involvement in management might be turned into a dynamic capability for the family firm and find that family firms combining family involvement with branding strategies communicating the family history, values, and identity as a corporate brand show higher rates of sales growth.

Standing the test of time. Does firm performance improve with age? An analysis of the wine industry

TL;DR: In this paper, a large sample of Italian wineries was tested on a panel model with time fixed effects on firm performance measured from 2008 to 2011, and the main findings highlight that the oldest wineries outperform the youngest wineries and the longevity factor can significantly explain the difference in performance.
