Journal ArticleDOI

Cell cycle control by the nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio in early Drosophila development

TL;DR: Transcription patterns in haploid embryos indicate that transcriptional activation is not directly controlled by the nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio, but may be an effect of the lengthening of interphase periods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell proliferation changes during pattern regulation in imaginal leg discs of Drosophila melanogaster.

TL;DR: Karpen et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed two phases of the cell cycle for several areas of imaginal disc fragments prior to and during wound healing and concluded that changes in patterns of DNA synthesis and an increase in cell division begin prior to wound closure.
